After hiding her body in the thicket he drove the car -- with the bodies of Carole Sund and Silvina Pelosso in the trunk -- as far as he could into the forest. Two days later he returned to the car with a can of gasoline. After scratching "We have Sarah" on the hood with a pocket knife, Stayner lit the car on fire. Then drove two hours west and dumped Mrs. Sund's billfold insert on a Modesto street corner to fool police. More than a month later, the remains of Carole Sund and Pelosso were found in the burned-out rental car, abandoned along a logging road.

Juli Sund's body was found a week later near the reservoir with the help of a map Stayner admitted sending anonymously to the FBI. A lawyer for the family of of Silvina Pelosso adeed that he was preparing a wrongful-death lawsuit holding Cary Stayner and the Cedar Lodge in El Portal responsible for the Argentine teen-ager's death. To avoid the death penalty, Stayner struck a plea bargain in September to receive life in prison for the federal Armstrong murder charges.

He was formally sentenced to life in prison for the Armstrong murder on December. DBefore being sentenced Stayner begged forgiveness from the family of Armstrong. I wish I could tell you why I don't even know myself.

I wish Joie was here, but she isn't. I am so sorry. Days later Stayner pleaded innocent to the murder of the three sightseers. If found guilty of the array of murder and sex charges, Stayner could face execution.

On December 15, , the Yosemite handyman-killer recieved three death sentences for the murders of Carole, Juli, 15, and Silvina. Jens Sund, the father of Juli and former husband of Carole, said in court that Stayner should drop his appeals and accept the death sentence, as the Oklahoma City bomber. Stayner's father, Delbert Stayner, said his son was deprived of a fair trial by a "kangaroo court" and a judge who ignored defense arguments.

Delbert added that the death sentence was the latest blow to a family that's suffered greatly. The former nurse in the intensive care unit in a Northhampton VA hospital is charged with injecting fatal drug overdoses in four patients under her care and trying to kill three others in and Gilbert, who is currently in prison serving jail time for a bomb threat conviction, was first charged in November with killing three patients - Henry Hudon, 35, Kenneth Cutting, 41, and Edward Skwira, Then they added Stanley Jagodowski, 66, to her indictment.

All four veterans appeared to have died of heart attacks. But autopsies, three of which were performed after the bodies were exhumed, showed they had died of ephinephrine - a heart stimulant naturally produced as adrenaline - poisoning. Prosecutors said Gilbert asked a supervisor on February 2, , if she could leave work early if a very ill patient were to die. Kenneth Cutting, who was blind and had multiple sclerosis, died 40 minutes later.

Authorities have said that Gilbert was on duty when 37 of 63 patients in her Ward C died. Empty ampules of ephinephrine were found near where Cutting died.

In court prosecutors said Gilbert murdered because she liked the thrill of medical emergencies and wanted to impress her hospital security guard boyfriend.

Attorney William Welch showed pictures of each of the four men -- including one of Stanley Jagodowski in a wheelchair with two grandchildren on his lap. He said each man had a normal heart when he entered the intensive care unit and Gilbert tried to cover her tracks by falsifying medical reports. Welch said Gilbert didn't like to work hard, but was "very, very smart" and the one area in which she excelled was in codes, or medical emergencies.

She liked emergencies because they attracted attention from her peers and from James Perrault, her boyfriend. Gilbert confessed her crimes to her Perrault and her estranged husband, but defense attorneys discounted the confessions, saying she made them while hospitalized and suffering from stress. Perrault also testified that Gilbert used to grind her hips into him during medical emergencies. Prosecutors said the emergency room sex vixen climbed atop a patient and straddled him, apparently so Perrault could see her garter belt.

In closing arguments prosecutors said the serial nurse used the "perfect poison" to kill her victims. Attorney Ariane Vuono told jurors. They were the perfect victims. When Kristen Gilbert killed them, she used the perfect poison. They say Gilbert was falsely accused by co-workers who were upset that she was having an extramarital affair.

Franz Fuchs 4 Known as the Austrian Unabomber, Franz Fuch, an unemployed engineer, was convicted on four counts of murder on March 10, , for a series of letter and pipe bomb attacks that left four people dead. He was also found guilty of more than a dozen cases of causing grievous bodily harm with bombs. Fuchs, 49, was charged with planting a pipe bomb that killed four Gypsies, or Roma, on February. His four-year racist bombing spree started in , and targeted mostly ethnic groups or people who supported their rights as refugee.

Most of his attacks were attributed to a mysterious right-wing group calling itself the Bajuvarian Liberation Army. Allegedly the terrorist group wants to reunite German-speaking peoples in Bavaria, the Alps and along the river Danube within borders that existed between the sixth and 12th centuries.

Although his defense team argued that he had accomplices, prosecutors insisted Fuchs acted on his own. Though Fuchs was absent from most of the trial because he repeatedly disrupted the court with nationalistic, anti-foreigner tirades, he did make it into the courtroom for a final statement. True to his past history, he yelled: One of his victims was the former Vienna Mayor Helmut Zilk, who lost his left hand in one explosion.

Fuchs was arrested after police were alerted by two women who telephoned to say they thought they were being stalked. A search of his home in Gralla, miles south of Vienna, produced five pipe bombs and a booby-trapped device similar to one that killed the four gypsies in According to authorities Fuchs set off an explosion in his car to kill himself when he realized he was getting arrested.

The blast ripped through his car, tore off his hands and injured two police officers. Fuchs was described by court psychiatrists as intelligent but a fanatic bent on violence.

He will serve his life sentence in a prison for the mentally dusturbed. Wayne Adam Ford 4 On November 4, , Wayne Adam Ford made headlines when he walked into the Sheriff's station in Northern California, pulled from his pocket a Ziploc bag with a severed breast inside it and admitted to killing four women. Sheriff Dennis Lewis said Ford walked into his department, said he had some evidence, and pulled out the baggied bag breast.

According to the Sheriff the emerging serial killer, "was remorseful and apparently had reached a point in his life where he wanted to talk about what he'd been involved in. One of the slayings dated back to , when the torso of a woman 18 to 25 was found floating in a channel near Eureka. Investigators found six or seven body parts of the unidentified woman based on information Ford provided, said Sheriff Lewis. The breast he brought to the Sheriff's station was from another victim.

Authorities said Ford implicated himself in two other recent slayings, in San Bernadino and San Joaquin counties. The first body found, discovered in October , had been so thoroughly dismembered that her identity remains unknown. Believed to have been a hitchhiker whom Ford picked up, her mutilated torso was found in a marsh near Eureka.

One of her arms was later found on a beach. Her head, other arm and parts of her legs are still missing. Ford stored other body parts in the freezer of his Arcata trailer for a year, and according to laboratory analysis, apparently tried to cook some of them. She had been strangled. Four months later, the nude body of Lanett Deyon White, a year-old prostitute from Fontana, was found floating in a San Joaquin County irrigation canal. The precise cause of death remains undetermined.

She had been strangled and one of her breasts removed--the one Ford carried in his coat pocket more than a week later when he and his brother walked into a sheriff's station in Humboldt County. People who knew Ford have said he regularly complained that since his separation and divorce from his wife, he has been frustrated in his efforts to see their son.

Their divorce decree gave him limited visitation. Pathologists hope to use knife and saw marks on bones from five body parts Ford led them to at a campsite outside Trinidad to match them with the still-unidentified torso. Ford had kept the body parts in a freezer in his Airstream trailer in Arcata for the past year but hid them in a hole at the base of a tree just days before turning himself in.

Wayne's arrest has led officials to identifying the body of Patricia Anne Tamez, a year-old Victorville woman discovered dead two weeks ago in the California Aqueduct near Interstate 15 outside Hesperia.

San Bernardino County officials said the body was missing a breast. Tamez may have been working as a prostitute at truck stops, officials said. A friend, Deborah Reck, said Ms.

Tamez was an upper middle class college student who dropped out because she liked to party too much and was "really into crystal meth. Authorities identified another of his victims as Tina Renee Gibbs, a year-old Las Vegas prostitute, whose body was dumped in an aqueduct in Kern County. Ford admitted killing Gibbs, saying that she died during rough sex that included bondage.

Two other victims remain unidentified. Born in Petaluma, Ford told friends he served in the military and bounced around the West, living in Big Bear and San Clemente before moving with his wife and son to Las Vegas. After breaking up with his wife he moved to the Northern California coast, where he started working as a long-haul trucker. Unnamed Moreland Family Juvenile Baby Killer 4 Authorities in Dayton, Ohio, took four children from the custody of Regina Moreland's after the death of her 2-year-old grandson, the fourth child to die in her home in the past seven months.

Carl Bush said investigators believe Regina might be somewhat responsible for the dying children and plan to review the previous three deaths that, pointedly, were ruled as probable homicides.

Then great-niece Alexis Marshall, 2, died November 13, followed by granddaughter Danatta Moreland, 3, who died on December Two other family members died in March: Moreland's husband, Phillip, committed suicide and his year-old daughter, Jamila, died in a traffic accident. Gerald Patrick Lewis 4 Gerald Patrick Lewis, who is jailed in Alabama on suspicion of killing four women, told the Mobile Register that he was responsible for a killing spree lasting more than a decade, including killing one near a gravel pit in Brockton.

I'm already in big trouble. I've got nothing to hide. Police in Atlanta have said they are also searching their records for possible matches to Lewis' account of killing two women in the area in the early s. Police said they would not be surprised if Lewis had, in fact, killed other women around the country.

During police interrogations of Lewis, he often seemed to have something more he wanted to talk about. Lewis' self-described killing spree, which he said lasted more than a decade, ended April 14, three days after Kathleen Bracken was found slaughtered at the Twilite Motel.

The year-old woman, originally from Swampscott, Mass. Police tracked down Lewis to his mother's Daphne home, in the Lake Forest subdivision. During questioning, detectives said he spilled "explicit" information about killing Ms. Police bundled up the body they found in a soft spot on the ground there, and turned it over to the state medical examiners, who confirmed Miss McGugin was the victim.

Lewis also told investigators that he tried to abduct a teen-age girl from the parking lot of the Wal-Mart Super Center off U. The story matched an account that the girl told to police. The girl said she had seen movement in her car when she approached it, ran back in the store, and a store employee called Daphne police. Lewis fled before police arrived. Eric Matthews 4 On May 21, , after being arrested in Chicago, year-old Eric Matthews confessed to killing his stepson, his wife and two other women.

At first he said he dropped the kid at a hospital, but later admitted strangling the boy in a fit of rage, then confessed to a couple of rapes and the murders of his wife and two ex-girlfriends. Matthews' crime spree began the 18th with the killing of his wife, Lashann Matthews, 20, at their trailer home in Hammond, Louisiana, about 45 miles northwest of New Orleans.

He then fled with her two children, Rosalyn and James. James' body was found two days later in a trash bin behind a church in a New Orleans suburb. Rosalyn, his stepdaughter, was found with him unharmed at the time of his arrested. While being questioned, Matthews also admitted committing two rapes in Indiana and Louisiana and killing two of his ex-girlfriends in the early s.

Authorities believe those two murders occurred in the Indianapolis and Michigan areas. Profit was also found guilty of two counts of the sexual attack on another woman. Profit, who has spent nearly one-half of his life in prison for violence and sexual assaults, was known as the "Wirth Park Killer". According to a county attorney Profit has been out of prison for only a year since he was 15 years old.

Police believe Bell was the first of four victims in a four-month serial killing spree. His three other suspected victims are, Deborah LaVoie, 43, whose burned body was found June 3 in Wirth Park; Avis Warfield, 36, found June 19 near the park, and Keooudorn Photisane, 21, found July 29 in bushes near a bike path and the park's golf course.

On June 2 Judge Peter Lindberg sentenced Profit to two consecutive life terms for the murder of Bell and the rape of another woman. Profit, 35, has spent more than half of his life in prison for rapes, robberies, assaults and now, murder. Because of his convictions for the first-degree murder of Renee Bell and the attempted rape of another woman, he won't be eligible for parole until he's Though new DNA tests on a cigarette butt have linked him to Avis Warfield's death, Profit said that he wants to be charged with her murder.

It's undisputed that Profit was in jail when Warfield's stabbed and burned body was discovered on June 19, , in front of a house where he once lived. What is disputed is whether Profit was locked up on a parole violation when she was stabbed. He insists he was in the Hennepin County jail; authorities say he had not yet been arrested.

During his trial, Profit and one of his attorneys, Charles Amdahl, argued unsuccessfully that Profit's wallet was planted at the Bell murder scene. They blame a man named Paul Kelly Jr. Now, Profit contends that Kelly planted the cigarette butt near Warfield's body. Profit offers no reason why Kelly would frame him except to say there was trouble between the two because Kelly was dating Profit's sister.

Profit knows the legal system from the inside. By 15, he had 30 felony arrests or charges on his record. Facing more counts, he agreed to plead guilty to aggravated assault with a weapon -- a sawed-off shotgun -- and be sentenced as an adult to two years.

Eight counts were dropped. He was the youngest Minnesotan sent to prison, and since then he's never had more than a year of freedom. Seventeen days after Profit's release from a Minneapolis halfway house, Bell was murdered during what appeared to be a sexual assault. Fibers found in a tan elastic band used to gag and strangle her matched some found in the trunk of a car that Profit drove.

Williams, 36, was charged on March 19, with the killing of Patricia Ashe in January While in jail on the assault rap, he was also charged for the murder of Debra Elliott in December. Police believe Williams also killed at least two other women -- Dawn Grandy and Cynthia Brown -- whose bodies were dumped on or near downtown railroad tracks.

He's also charged with sexual assaulting four other women since October Police conducted 6, interviews and beefed up patrols in the Moore Square area downtown after investigators started suspecting that a serial killer might be loose. An officer even talked briefly with Williams, but he was not identified as a suspect until his arrest on the assault charge.

Investigators believe the Williams met his victims downtown and that they willingly went with him to secluded spots where "he felt comfortable to make the attacks. A Raleigh man with an IQ of 80 was sentenced to death for killing two crack-addicted women, raping and assaulting two more, and trying to rape and assault another one. Though he's not been charged with any other murders, John Williams remains a suspect in the slayings of three more poor women in downtown Raleigh.

His defense attorney, in a futile attempt to spare his life, argued that he had been reared in poverty and abuse, and has an IQ in the low 80s.

Apparently he suffered from a mental disturbance caused by having watched his sister being repeatedly sexually abused when he was between 7 and The molestations triggered in Williams a mental disturbance called dissociation, in which, "We run away, only the running away is mental, and you're functioning on automatic pilot. Nontheless, on March 4, , a jury composed of five women and seven men handed him the death penalty. They saw him as a lethal predator in the desperate world of crack addicts, preying on women who were willing to have sex in exchange for a high.

He lured them with drugs, then choked them, put a box cutter or a small knife to their throats and raped or tried to rape them, prosecutors argued. Those who resisted, he beat to death. Four other poor women were killed in , and Raleigh police at first rejected the possibility of a serial killer.

But as the death toll rose, they reconsidered. One murder was solved last year when a man was convicted of shooting his girlfriend to death. But three other cases remain open, and police and prosecutors consider Williams the prime suspect in those, although they do not have enough evidence to charge him.

Darrell Rich 4 As of June, , Shasta County serial killer Darrell Rich -- convicted of four murders in -- is slated to be the next prisoner to be executed in California. Rich, 44, of Cottonwood, was convicted of three first-degree murders, one second-degree murder and sexual assaults on five other women, all committed between June and August One victim, year-old Annette Selix, left home to buy groceries in August and was found dead the next day under a bridge.

Rich had worked for her mother. According to a state Supreme Court ruling, Rich was interviewed after her body was found, mentioned seeing one or more bodies at a dump and agreed to take a lie-detector test, at which sheriff's deputies decided he was lying.

He ultimately told officers he had murdered the girl as well as Annette Edwards and Patricia Moore of Redding, both beaten to death, and Linda Slavik, who disappeared from a bar in Chico and was found shot to death at a dump in Shasta County. The Moore killing was ruled to be second-degree murder.

On August 13, , a panel of three circuit judges rejected defense arguments that a federal trial judge in Sacramento should have let them investigate the way Shasta County killer Darrell Rich, an American Indian, was prosecuted.

The defense lawyers claimed the prosecution violated Rich's rights by systematically excluding American Indians from the grand jury that indicted him. The federal appeals court refused to review the death sentence.

His only remaining hope to stay alive is a Supreme Court appeal. Rich was tried in Yolo County following a change of venue. He was convicted of sexually assaulting and murdering two victims in -- an year-old Cottonwood girl, whom he tossed off a foot-high bridge, and an Oroville woman.

He also was convicted of killing two other women and sexually assaulting five more during the same summer. Rich's lawyers say his trial was tainted by financial pressures placed by county supervisors on his public defender, allegedly hampering his representation of Rich. Robert Black 4 This British convicted child killer serving 10 life sentences for the murders of three other girls was offered immunity from prosecution for the murder of a girl 19 years ago if he provides information leading to the discovery of her remains.

The body of Genette Tate, who was 13 when she disappeared in Aylesbeare, Devon, in August , has never been found. Detectives suspect that Robert Black may have killed her. Black was linked to the area where Genette disappeared by tracking his gas station receipts.

Police were led to Del Junco by a street woman who was beat on the head by him nine months before. The woman flagged down a patrol car when she spotted him again.

Once authorities had Del Junco in custody they just talked to him -- about his childhood in Cuba, his likes and dislikes.

The conversation spanned over a weekend and took interrogators and the suspected serial killer to picturesque Key Biscayne. There, looking across the aquamarine of Biscayne Bay, the year-old Del Junco-- a loner who was well-liked at work but kept his distance from the few family members he had in Miami-- confessed to killing and torching four women.

Police then took him to the scene of each murder, where he acted out the details of each killing. The victims were killed between August and March and were found beaten, burned and partially clothed in or near Miami's inner city.

They were all black, but Del Junco said his killing spree was not racially motivated. More than people were interviewed in the investigation and much time was spent trying to track down a suspect known only as "Dread" because his dreadlocked hairstyle before arresting Del Junco, a Cuban refugee who came to Miami in the Mariel boat lift. Although authorities think they have their man, they are still looking for "Dread" who might have witnessed one of the slayings.

John Martin Scripps 4 After escaping from prison in , British convict John Martin Scripps went on a globe-trotting, three-nation murder rampage. Johnny was arrested in March, , in Singapore for killing and dismembering a South African tourist. He was also charged with the murder of a Canadian mother and son in Thailand.

Trained as a butcher, after killing his victims he would skillfully sever their corpses at the joints using a pen knife and dispose of their body parts. Not the typical sexual sadist, John killed merely for money and credit cards. The first serial killer to ever be arrested in Singapore, Johnny was swiftly convicted and sentenced to death. On April 19, , he was hanged by authorities.

His mother and sister attended the execution. Before she left Britain, Mrs. I brought him into the world. I am the only person who can take him out of it. London's Scotland Yard believe that John also murdered a British tourist in Central America whose bank account in London was milked by Scripps after he vanished. In Mexico City, his ex-wife, Maria Arellanos, said: I knew something awful was happening, but I could not believe he had started killing people.

Unfortunately for John, that never happened. Jack Barron 4 In Jack Barron moved from being a very unfortunate man to become a serial killer. It all started in when his wife, Irene, died mysteriously leaving Jack grief stricken. Eight months later his four year-old son, Jeremy, stopped breathing in his sleep. Jack claimed it was some genetic link that was killing his family.

Next his daughter, also four, died in her sleep. Family and friends could not believe such tragedy could strike again. Jack packed up and moved in with his mother. When the poor lady died in her bed, authorities became a little suspicious. Jack still maintains his innocence and likes to dwell on his suffering. Now that he's been charged with four murders, he might be in for a little more suffering for the next one hundred years.

Donald Miller 4 A prisoner in the Jackson State Prison in Michigan, At age 23 Don confessed to four rape-murders -- including the murder of his former fiancee -- from to in and around East Lansing, Michigan. He was arrested while attempting his 5th rape-murder.

In exchange for leading prosecutors to the bodies of his four victims, the charges against him were reduced to only manslaughter. In , Miller -- a college graduate in criminal justice who was diagnosed as mentally ill before his trial -- was sentenced to toyears in the big house. Fortunately for the rest of us Donald will not be out of prison until Though he could have been released in February after earning ten years off for good behavior, a Michigan judge deemed he's still too dangerous to be released.

Thomas "Zoo Man" Huskey 4 On February 13, , after a jury said it was unable to decide whether the defendant was insane, a mistrial was declared in the quadruple murder trial of Thomas "Zoo Man" Huskey.

The member panel, brought miles from Nashville to Davidson County because of intense local publicity, told Judge Richard Baumgartner they were deadlocked The defense claimed Huskey, a former zoo elephant trainer, possessed multiple personalities he couldn't control. One personality in particular, an evil alter ego named "Kyle," confessed to the the murder rampage that claimed the lives of four prostitutes. Prostitutes knew him as "Zoo Man" because he also liked to take them to a barn near the Knoxville Zoo for sex.

The "Zoo Man" has already been convicted of attacking and raping several women in and , and he is serving a year sentence for those crimes. After his arrest in October , Huskey met several times with Knox County investigators.

Calling himself "Kyle," he described how he met the victims, what they wore and what they did once he took them to Cahaba Lane, a dead-end road where he could bind, beat and rape women he picked up around Magnolia Avenue.

While being interrogated he related how he talked with Anderson, a prostitute with a serious drug habit, about what he would do with her. Anderson, who was pregnant, begged him to let her go. Huskey -- or Kyle if you are to believe his multiple personalities -- said he strangled her, laid her body on her stomach, threw a jacket over her back and shoved an old mattress on top of her.

In his trial Dr. Erickson saw Huskey when was 16, after he broke into a house on the grounds of the Knoxville Zoo to steal money. His defense contended that as a young man he was recruited by a sado-masochistic prostitution ring which permanently scarred his psyche.

Since his arrest in October, , psychologist Dr. D, repeatedly interviewed the "Zoo Man" and uncovered his purported multiple personalities. She also testified that Huskey reported having spells in his past in which he lost track of time. According to McCoy, Huskey was insane when he killed the four women.

Anthony Balaam 4 Anthony, a Trenton, New Jersey crack addict, confessed to sodomizing and strangling four prostitutes during sex-for-drugs exchanges.

Fifth rape victim who escaped after being raped and led police to her attacker ending his month deadly rampage. According to police Balaam, 30 at the time of his arrest, showed no remorse and "came off as a nice guy" when he was arrested on August 8, The crimes Balaam was charged with ocurred within two miles of his home. Police said he encountered his victims in the predawn hours, while cruising neighborhoods where women regularly swap sex for crack cocaine.

On February 16, when the woman who was raped escaped, police became convinced from details of the attack and the weapon used that the rapist was also the strangler they were seeking.

DNA from semen taken from the victims and other laboratory results linked two killings. Balaam eventually became a suspect, and the rape victim identified him as her attacker after his arrest.

Balaam, known as the "Trenton Strangler," was convicted on June 1 of killing the four women. The slain women were: On June 17 jurors ruled against the death penalty for the convicted killer. Lowell Amos 4 On Oct 24, , Lowell, a Detroit businessman whose mother and three wives died under suspicious circumstances, was convicted of murdering his third wife with a cocaine overdose. Lowell, a former General Motors plant manager from Anderson, Indiana, claimed his wife, Roberta Mowery Amos, 37, died from an accidental drug overdose during sex play in which he was inserting cocaine into her body.

However, a coroner's autopsy revealed that her body contained 15 times the amount of cocaine needed to kill a person. Prosecutors believe Lowell knew Roberta was about to leave him and he wanted to collect on her life insurance. Strangely, the unlucky widower's two previous wives and his mother had all died mysteriously between and He now faces an automatic life sentence without possibility of parole for the slaying of his third betrothed, Roberta.

Eric Elliott, 18, and Lewis Gilbert, 24, of Newcomerstown, Ohio, bored with their mundane existence, went on a weeklong crime spree in Ohio in leaving four dead in their wake. In Gilbert was convicted in the killing of Roxy Ruddell and was sentenced to death. Eric's first trial in May, , ended in a deadlock. In his second trial, moments before jury selection was to begin, Elliot pleaded guilty to participating in the September slaying of Ruddell because, he said, "he was in fact, guilty.

The victim, year-old Roxy Ruddell was murdered while fishing in a lake. The two boys were arrested with Mrs. Ruddell's truck near Santa Fe, N. Police believe they also abducted and killed Ruth Loader of Port Washington, who has never been seen again and is presumed dead. Furthermore, they are suspected in the slayings of William and Flossie Brewer, whose bodies were found in their home in Kingdom City, Montana.

Beverly Allit 4 Bev, a nurse suffering from the mental illness Munchausen's Syndrome by Proxy a desire to kill or injure to get attention , was given 13 life sentences at Nottingham crown court in after being convicted of murdering four children and attacking nine others.

Her arrest followed an investigation into several incidents of alleged tampering with patients' ventilators and pumps delivering intravenous medication at various hospitals in Lincolnshire and Nottinghamshire. The nurse is now detained in Rampton Maximum Security Hospital for the criminally insane. It is unlikely that she will ever get out, but if she does relatives of the dead children have promised to kill her.

Public reaction to the case was particularly hostile, as, being a nurse, she was obviously in a position of trust and in charge of caring for children. Archie "Mad Dog" McCafferty 4 A multiple killer who has been in jail in Australia for the past 23 years was to be deported to his native Scotland within the next two weeks.

Australian authorities immediately confirmed that they would send him back to Scottland from where he came with his family when he was ten. The murderous rampage took place five days after his six-week-old son died when his wife fell asleep while breast-feeding and rolled on top of him. McCafferty claimed at his trial in that he had heard the voice of his dead son telling him he would be born again if seven people were killed.

He remained obsessed with the number seven in prison, writing an autobiography titled "Seven Shall Die. However, a parole board judge said that by "Mad Dog" became a model prisoner. His freedom was granted after his fifth request for parole. Philip Morrice, the British Consul-General, said Britain had no choice but to accept the decision to deport McCafferty, although the prisoner has appealed against the move.

At the hearing McCafferty apologised to relatives of his victims and said he was "out of touch with reality" at the time of the killings. If I could give my life to bring your fathers back I would do that gladly. On April 23, "Mad Dog" lost his last appeal to the Administrative Appeals Tribunal against a deportation order by the Australian government. On May 1 McCafferty was escorted onto a plane by two police officers and sent on his way to Scotland, a place he has no desire to live in.

Scottish authorities stated that they will have to house him if he returns to Glasgow, but there are fears of a lynch-mob if the public discovers his where-abouts. The victims families believe that he is not a changed-man, and that there is every possibility that he will kill again.

Andrei Maslich 4 A death row inmate in Siberia, Andrei has received two death sentences for strangling and cooking his cell mates in prison.

Maslich, a four-time convicted murderer, received his first death penalty in when he and another inmate strangled, cooked and ate a prisoner because they were bored. He was sentenced to death again on December 26, for strangling his new cell mate after an argument and boiling his liver in a metal mug on a makeshift fire. Allegedly he cooked his cell mate in hopes of being declared insane and escaping execution for his first act of cannibalism. Maslich told the Altai regional court he cooked his cellmate, a double murderer, in hopes of being declared insane and escaping execution for his first act of cannibalism.

The crime was not discovered until the next morning, when a warder looked through the spy hole and Maslich nodded to his lifeless cellmate: Tsutomu Miyazaki 4 Charged with the kidnapping and murdering four young girls in Tokyo and the Saitama Prefecture from to , Tsutomu told the Tokyo District Court he did not, "have much interest in his trial.

Court hearings were suspended on March when lawyers demanded a second psychiatric test for Miyazaki. The first psychiatric tests showed that his mental condition, despite signs of personality disorder, was sufficient enough to be held responsible for the crimes. But a second test contradicted the initial one, suggesting that he was either suffering from multiple personality disorder or schizophrenia.

According to the court, Miyazaki kidnapped a 4-year-old girl in Saitama Prefecture and strangled her in a forest in suburban Tokyo in August About five months later, he burned the body near his home. The he placed the ashes in a cardboard box that he left in front of the dead girl's home. In October the same year, he abducted a 7-year-old girl while she was walking along a street in Saitama Prefecture and took her to woods in suburban Tokyo and strangled her.

In December , Miyazaki approached another 4-year-old girl in Saitama Prefecture, strangled her in his car in a parking lot and abandoned her body in a nearby wooded area, according to the court. In June , he abducted a 5-year-old girl in Tokyo and also strangled her in his car. He later mutilated her body and abandoned parts of the corpse in wooded areas of Saitama and Tokyo prefectures. Miyazaki was arrested in July , in Hachioji, Tokyo, on charges of trying to molest another girl after he was caught by the girl's father.

He confessed during questioning to the four slayings. After his arrest, investigators found and confiscated a collection of 5, animated and other videos at his home. You are not looking to get rich, you are looking to slightly shrink your luxurious living in the now, to cushion a future that might include hunger, cold, dehydration, coercion and violence.

Start with the grinding minimal basics of survival. Your situation will dictate preparing to stay, permanently moving to a safer place, or preparing to do a short-notice hopefully slightly-before-the-hordes bug-out to the safer place. All 3 of these require appropriate on-foot clothing. The vehicular bug out might be using the last fuel you will get for years, and part of that trip may be on-foot. Concealed where you are going is best. You can walk sort of hungry.

Preserved food is to get you to harvests: Go lighter than you might want if you are short of funds or are starting late. You NEED at least a handgun and a longarm with your group. The handgun can be a.

Both will deter and kill, but are not optimum in a fight. A 9mm handgun like Glock 17 and a. You will need these kind of weapons in any case, and ought to be armed very soon regardless of the situation slow-decline, collapse, long-depression, etc. These are physically light weapons that will travel on foot well enough shouldered while you have a pack on.

Later, as you have funds AFTER securing 6 months worth of preserved food and water-tools, consider a semi-auto military-pattern rifle or carbine in. There is a lot of info out there on the various considerations. The main one is that all of these cartridges out-range. City people should especially start riding bicycles to cut down on short car trips.

Country people should have several bicycles hanging in a shed, in good shape with locks attached. Stationary exercise bicycle may be safer than riding on fast rural roads until fuel is unavailable. New or used, waterproof or not. There is going to be a lot more watching and waiting than shooting. Generalize enough to ensure the basics, then specialize to make a re-sellable product or service.

Its impossible to predict what life will be like after the SHTF but of all the possible scenarios none of the most likely to happen are good. Given their lives will likely be much worse after a collapse IF they happen to survive it, I sometimes find myself questioning whether my own preoccupation with prepping for unknown disasters and the accompanying depression and stress that goes along with it is worth it.

Is prepping really about minimizing how much one suffers before they die versus trying to survive long enough to see a better tomorrow? I find depression and stress not very helpful. In my experience it has evolved more into a lifestyle change more than anything. We are not guarenteed a collapse nor a tomorrow for that matter. You need to enjoy life also, it goes by too fast. What kind of talk is that…. The human race has been around for many tens of thousands of years.

We loose our cool toys and easy life style. We are here where we are today thanks to the generations who came before us.

And those who have seen this storm and prepped have the best chance to survive. Just like the countless generations before ours. An article that I read here recently said that the average family in the United States has, on average, between three and seven days of food on hand at any given time.

Reports of incidents of violent civil unrest and news of catastrophic economic disasters seem to be happening with increasingly frequency, on an almost daily basis, all around the world. Where I live, in South Central Florida, the crackle of gunfire is an almost nightly occurrence in certain nearby neighborhoods. Rather than pulling over to the side of the road and producing their license, registration and proof of insurance …… more and more motorists now seem to be choosing to shoot it out with the police!

People are driving much more aggressively now than I remember previously. There are a whole lot of people out there operating on very short fuses.

This promises to be a VERY interesting summer. God Bless and good luck to all who post here. Please make a serious effort to correct any deficiencies in your preparations as quickly as possible. That is why even two weeks of preps will make a big difference. Me personally, I do not prep to ease suffering. I do it with the mindset that I do not desire to be controlled by the powers that be.

My prepping is to keep me sustained hopefully until I am able to live completely free of the need for currency and to have access to a few items I can live without, but be glad I have when I am self sufficient such as sugar or even band aids. Medical supplies are not on the top of my list because studying what was used before these things existed has eased my mind about a ton of medical stuff i thought i needed to get.

Everyone relies heavily on antibiotics and expects the plague when SHTF but there was a solution for bugs before antibiotics, but most did not realize the significance and that is silver. Microbial bugs die in it. In the western days water stayed fresh when a silver coin was thrown in the trough or barrel.

No one knew why. They just knew it worked. We now know that boiling rags will make them sterile. Boiling anything for that matter will make it sterile. The world is setting itself up for every world government to demand its people to adhere to its currency rules or not be able to have access to the markets. Preppers generally prep for short term survival. I choose to look farther into this mess and prep for self sufficiency. The government will demand payment for taxes on your property one day probably after the currency collapse and new currency arrival.

If you have your land and plan you may want to find out how to prevent from having to pay taxes on it. You will have to do your own research on how. I would have to start a new blog on that subject. If you folks think the western countries made it to trillions in debt by accident or foolishness you can forget about it. If my seasonal depression is cured by simply getting more light why do they insist i take an anti depressant? If they are aware calcium stops menstrual cramps why do they write prescriptions for pain pills or give hormone shots?

Anemia can be cured by simply cooking all your food in an iron skillet. Prepare yourself with protection in mind. Prepare yourself for no utilities in mind or grocery stores even. We all seem to agree this is a given. But your main goal should be self sufficiency.

Once again, good luck to all. The American Freemasonry have been a part of America since shortly after the first colonists arrived in America. They are the current leaders captains of our industries , political parties , church and social leaders … who all answer to the Grand Masonic Lodge in England Which is Illuminati Controlled. A nation that is afraid to let its people judge the truth and falsehood in an open market is a nation that is afraid of its people.

JFK was the third greatest president in american history… behind lincoln and jackson. We decided long ago that the dangers of excessive and unwarranted concealment of pertinent facts far outweighed the dangers which are cited to justify it. Even today, there is little value in opposing the threat of a closed society by imitating its arbitrary restrictions. Even today, there is little value in insuring the survival of our nation if our traditions do not survive with it.

And there is very grave danger that an announced need for increased security will be seized upon those anxious to expand its meaning to the very limits of official censorship and concealment. That I do not intend to permit to the extent that it is in my control. And no official of my Administration, whether his rank is high or low, civilian or military, should interpret my words here tonight as an excuse to censor the news, to stifle dissent, to cover up our mistakes or to withhold from the press and the public the facts they deserve to know.

It is a system which has conscripted vast human and material resources into the building of a tightly knit, highly efficient machine that combines military, diplomatic, intelligence, economic, scientific and political operations. Its preparations are concealed, not published. Its mistakes are buried not headlined. Its dissenters are silenced, not praised.

No expenditure is questioned, no rumor is printed, no secret is revealed. For from that scrutiny comes understanding; and from that understanding comes support or opposition.

And both are necessary. I am not asking your newspapers to support the Administration, but I am asking your help in the tremendous task of informing and alerting the American people. For I have complete confidence in the response and dedication of our citizens whenever they are fully informed.

I not only could not stifle controversy among your readers— I welcome it. This Administration intends to be candid about its errors; for as a wise man once said: Without debate, without criticism, no Administration and no country can succeed— and no republic can survive. That is why the Athenian lawmaker Solon decreed it a crime for any citizen to shrink from controversy. This means greater coverage and analysis of international news— for it is no longer far away and foreign but close at hand and local.

It means greater attention to improved understanding of the news as well as improved transmission. And it means, finally, that government at all levels, must meet its obligation to provide you with the fullest possible information outside the narrowest limits of national security…. Good Lord — vent baby, vent. Probably not get quite so worked up, bad for the karma and all that. Not to mention the blood pressure. Just sort yourself out with a steady income stream and prepare for the future so you can provide and protect your own.

Calm down and focus. Never mind the bloody anti-christ, get a grip and take an inventory and see where your shortcomings are, then take remedial action. The most important preparation for all is to recognize when the time to bugout has arrived. To be mentally prepared to kill to survive is not as easy as you might think. People I love will have to be left to what comes, to keep the family alive. The food and the water are vital, but the mental ability to function in chaos is even more so.

The story begins at Yale, where three threads of American social history — espionage, drug smuggling and secret societies — intertwine into one. He amassed a great fortune from trade and returned to England in Yale became known as quite a philanthropist; upon receiving a request from the Collegiate School in Connecticut, he sent a donation and a gift of books.

After subsequent bequests, Cotton Mather suggested the school be named Yale College, in Established by George Washington, it was successful throughout the Revolutionary War. Nathan was the only operative to be ferreted out by the British, and after speaking his famous regrets, he was hanged in Be bo bina, banana nana fina- They can not contain you! They can not censor you! When they hide your comments it makes them more desirable to read. Very patiently waiting… I am paid by the Knowledge that others read and learn that which I learn in my travels.

Fantastic advice, Be Informed. Thanks, BA — it appears that is very true, since the mad thumbers have attacked your post too. Why the fixation on thumbs???? Please Mac, take them away. Do you really care what others say?

If so, what did you really want to say? How come you get all the heroes? Do i need a more girlie name or what? This is totally unfair. I just prefer they be well-earned because I said something controversial that caused people to stop and think. I just found it strange that so many innocuous comments were being flagged that way. For those who think in a stereotypical fashion, I look nothing like their ideas of what a prepper should look like, to those of that mindset I am someone who they would never consider has even thought of the possibility of stormy waters ahead.

I dare say I am not as advanced in what I have as many of you are, but I am adding weekly to my supplies, not as much as I would like to add, but something, without fail each week, but I still like my nails to look perfect at all times, I love my totally impractical car and I will only wear the sweatpants I have stored in the loft when I REALLY have to, like when it is impossible to get my hands on more suitable attire. I think there may be more people out there, quietly prepping, than we realise, and I hope this is the case, for every single person that preps in my area, there will be less problems for me post-shtf.

So, when I blame the iPad for typos in the future, you will know the truth…. This short string of words has so much impact for the individual and the human society as a whole, IF only the non-prepper would take these words to heart. Every person that changes their habits and starts putting away for survival, the better chance that the human race has of surviving a mega worldwide calamity.

If no one prepared and say one of the many super volcanoes went off with much more intensity of Yellowstone ever has, which has happened before, the very continuity of the human species would be at grave risk. Live as though all will be well while preparing for it all to fail. Some dangers, such as wild fires, you cannot prep for, anyway and they happen even when the world is going on as usual elsewhere.

Floods and earthquakes will take out the preparations of those caught in them. An unknown virus could wipe out most of us in a few weeks. People today flip out if their Internet is down for several hours or their phone dies. Stay away from concentrations of humanity and wait it out.

I predict many suicides thousands the first week without those two and also the ability to masturbate their brain in front of their tv. So many people have lost all contact with reality, have no life whatsoever, and depend totally on the constant dose of this electronic crap to prop them up. But over time watching what is happeninf in the world and here in californistan she is convinced. She went out an bought her own colt M4 OPS rifle. We have a group that will meet at the multi acre homesite of a friend.

We all bring our food, guns and ammo and we all will stay there for mutual protection. The whole system is very fragile right now and like the article says.. My wife and i will not be statistics…but will be some of the ones around to count the statistics. Storing additional frozen meat is not prepping. There is a story out there about mutant zombie bikers- i hope, truly hope, that i never run into them. You sound pretty smart to me. I will be canning some roasts in the near future.

Might as well and if nothing happens it will make great soup. We can a lot of meat by itself but we the wife and I also make and can beef stew, chicken soups, chili, and much more. Have you tried canning hamburger? If so how did it turn out? It would be great for chili and spaghetti. Never tried tried hamburger but my wife says it is possible.

You can also freeze dry it and dehydrate it for jerky. An Amish company named Yoders sells all canned meats with a 10 yr shelf life, Also all kinds of dehydrated foods. Be the ant… please…..

Dont be a victim! Everyone needs to take some personal responsability and not rely on someone else to come and save them. I hope more people wake up and prepare, as I would much rather be surrounded by those that are prepared than those that are not and become desperate like this article describes. A desperate man is a dangerous man. By the way check out http: They also have food storage and bulk ammo. Prepare for the worst and hope for the best.

All you need are tree limbs or thinly split wood. Water, silver, ammo, 10 cans, and a bug out plan….. News out of Fukushima today is not so good. If NR4 goes, then Greece and inflation is the last of your worries. Just some small items that would really come in handy in an event.

Thats all I can do for now. I know for a fact that the local pastors ARE stressing preparedness. I have met a lot of preppers who will fall victim to those who did not prepare, but have the ability and will to prey upon preppers. One trip to the outhouse, for example, could easily become the last trip anywhere. The smart predator will take out the individual silently then wait with their battle rifle for their family to come looking for them.

I cant believe the idiots on this topic alone. I just let it roll off my back. Most people here have never killed anything, let alone have the blood of another person on their hands.

I do and I have read your posts on here for over a year, even now I see more idiots putting thumbs down and some dont understand the seriouness of this. I posted a similiar prediction a while ago. They will just get back a half or quarter mile and snipe you off.

If they use a silenced sub sonic weapon they could probably clean out an entire neighborhood before anyone had a clue. I believe the guy from Yugoslavia all readt warned about snipers as did Ferfal from Argentina. What a load of crap. How about the people housed in the Superdome after Hurricane Katrina? They went 4 days before food was available.

Furthermore, once the 50, refugees entered the Superdome they were not allowed to leave. They were trapped in sweltering conditions with no fresh water, no food, and overflowing toilets. Imagine something on a grander scale. These are all real things that can happen. What are you going to do? Wait for FEMA to show up? See how well that worked out in New Orleans.

Some had to weigh lbs. Four days without food? I know some of them could have lived off body fat till the second coming. Still, you are right. Never depend on government. Let me tell you a little about Katrina. It is sad to say, but true. And the ignorance of the local governments was the reason it took so long. They had no clue what to do while trying to save face. To watch it unfold was truly eye opening. These people only wanted whatever the government could give them…the others just stole looted what they could.

Yes, it was tragic…lives were lost…property lost…everything people owned from birth; gone. But, one thing for certain; the ones that were self-sufficient and resourceful were the ones saving the lives of others and working to build their lives back. These people are alive and healthy with new lives today.

And yes, it was the levee failures, not the storm itself, that ravaged New Orleans. Thanks to the Army Corps of Engineers that built the faulty structures many years ago. Keep preparing, protect your family, keep God close, and never let anyone take away your freedom! Looks like a one way trip. Wide, free span roof, basically sheetmetal walls, etc. I live maybe an hour away from the capital of my state and I just know there great plan will be for a relocation of the surrounding area.

Your statement reads as if citizens were pets or something and goods and produce were somehow magically made to appear at the push of a button by the great Oz.

Seeing as how the unitedstate is getting to be more like the old Soviet Union perhaps you should look there for the potential disruptions to commerce and trade and all the consequences that go along with a command and control economy? Start at about and work your way forward. Also, consider the implications of a significant number of farmers retiring with no one with experience to replace them. Seems to me you likely have no understanding of the economic condition of most western governments and what that means.

Ever play the card game Old Maid? It is being run by Congress, the executive bureaucracy, and the Federal Reserve System. It is being run by men who share the views of Keynes, namely, that the gold standard is a barbarous relic and that politicians and bureaucrats and central bankers are the people who should set policies under which companies become profitable. Men who shared these economic views — deficits, regulation, and fiat money — ran Austria in They had been running Germany since Some of us see that the present economic system cannot be trusted.

Wow… you should read about Holland during world war 11 or Sweden during the starving years, or Ireland… it is easy to say with modern just in time food delivery… but lots of countries had ports over the last years and had food issues… and starved… russia, cambodia, china, large part of africa. We have more people now more than ever. Total collapse would over-strain the system and lead to a situation where you could only count on yourself. People also underestimate the evil a human being is capable of.

Unchecked depravity begets further depravity. Just for starters during the last depression LostAngeles was mostly rural with a large farming presence. The city itself was small and fishing was still very good as a backup. Now you have to drive over a hundred miles just to get out of LA and the kind of people now living there bear no resemblence to those of the s. This description fits most large US cities as to a then and now.

The parents in Greece that are forced to hand their kids into the orphanages in the hope that they may be fed? Each and every day desperate parents are driven to this Kevin.

You think foodbank lines are a joyous experience? If the affluent no longer have anything to spare? Why do you feel the need to curse in every post? Read a dictionary or something and increase your vocabulary, people will think you are smarter than you now appear. Unknowingly, you just name countries that get large quantities of food imported from the US. United States is the most significant nation in the world when it comes to international trade. For decades, it has led the world in imports while simultaneously remaining as one of the top three exporters of the world.

Main export partners are: And nobody is working because the entire power grid went down? Anybody with a brain should be able to see it coming. The way prices are going up here it could well be the UK before the year is out.. There are many, many things you can prepare for. The unknown is what is truly frightening. You cannot even predict how your family members will react. Until people are actually living it, it is impossible to know. Preppers with babies, toddlers, or small children how will you keep them calm?

Just the stress of constant vigil will be enough to send us over the edge. Dog lovers how will you keep from having the dog give away your hiding places? The hills have eyes! How will a wife or husband react if a mom or dad show up or both sets of parents? I find it very hard to believe we would be able to turn them away and tell them fend for themselves. I Am Your Worse Nightmare. I details how someone or a group of people will watch you and your family for just the right opportunity to strike.

Cities and towns roping themselves off in an effort to keep people from coming in. Gangs on motorcycles or anything else that can be driven burning and razing everything it their path. Food pretty much gone. I have tried to get friends and family to prepare,as the article suggests, but stopped about a year ago. I realized I would become the target when things get bad.

We are definitely living in interesting times and hope we make it out on the other side. No sympathy for any of them. Then I realized I was wasting my time. It will be the classic fable of the grasshopper and the ant. I have mixed emotions aboout this article…how about you guys?? I mean it makes me sooovery sad for those who choose to spend their last hundred on flowers, but makes me sooooo happy that I am good for years.

I found a wash board today!!!! I am soooo prepped…I got 4 more gallons of vinegar today 2. Wenn nicht, schaute nichts bedeutet! Was tun sie, wenn sie die ganze Welt, aber ihre Seele verlieren? I like the idiots on here that gave me thumbs down, more than thumbs up and its all truth. Im not going to say my profession and my spelling sucks but I know a thing or 2 about war.

Some of you younger people need to grow up and take this serious. I cant help you, only you can and your family but if you are not prepared you are going to be behind the loop and disorientated and not do so well. I wish everyone well but some of you I dont. Yes, the thumbs down for extremely impartial, diplomatic comments lends us to suffice a child is playing on the computer…meant literally and figuratively.

Move on and keep prepping. The Southern Poverty Law Center must have discovered this site, given the number of thumbs down on inoffensive posts.

To them, preppers are terrorists. Never could understand why the Homies and FBI suck up to them. You should start your practice and start blasting hungry people at the food locker. I have two theories: Swift, one person would have to be pretty dedicated to doing something so darned silly. Can you imagine the doofus that would sit there feverishly clicking thumbs, then reset IPs, and do it all again, for hours!

Your statements gave you away. How about I clarify a few things? I can assure you that I have more important chores to do every day than plotting to plunder others. In fact, that thought never even entered my mind.

My home IS my castle — get it? Not to mention the fact that stealing is morally wrong. Your suggestions do suggest that YOU are unprepared and unskilled. Someone who has a good set of survival skills would never ask the question that you did: If so, get out while you can. Being trapped never has a good outcome. The one thing you do NOT want to do is trek off somewhere without good primitive skills that have been learned and experienced. All this would do is trap you in a no-win scenario.

If you WANT to trek off into the wilderness, learn how to life in the wilderness while you have a safety net to return to. In other words, learn survival skills. And I, for one, live near the AT and have hike many miles, even in the dead of Winter in 2-foot snow…. I and dh are staying here. What in the name of prepping did I store all this food and supplies for???

Types like her may as well just lie down and take the damn suicide pill. Why does, she he they, know what you have? People who let NP people know what they have might as well take the pill.

Costly, but much better than ever having to try to run the chain saw or tiller on bad gas. Repectfully and with the greatest admiration for the intent but not the reasoning for the above article.

The liberal elite no doubt plan on tapping into the 4. By and large they also live in large cities. They will eat each other in short order. The broods from Welfare Queens will be a danger but only for a short time. They will simply not survive.. Trying to survive by stealing even in large gangs.. Remember for the crimminals there will be even fewer medical support mechanisims than for yourself.

All while our folks who survive will increasing be the most capable and deadly and they will have learned a measure of calculated and intelligent ruthlessness towards their enemies.

The scum whom you are bemoaning with regards to their lack of awareness of preparedness are also the kinds of folks who smirk and laugh as they lie, cheat and steal from one another. So bottom line do not bemoan their stupidity..

You are not going to change it.. Help those who will accept your help.. The best you can do is layup as many goods in disparate locations so that you might be able to pull a few innocents and Angels Unaware from the Grim Reapers grasp..

If the LAPD miss the average criminal over 40 times and they are supposed to practice, how much missing are the rest of the boob patrol going to do. Derivitives bubble…this will bring down the global ecompny. Nationalization of ira and k. The pandemic will make it easier to not have to pay all the dead boomers. A bit more difficult - but I was sober and had some coffee on the road to stay awake. Got back around 4.

I apologize for not getting this posted right after, but it has taken this long for my ears to stop ringing. Night Shift was a very good choice of openers for two reasons. They played hard rock with a bit of a southern twist. Actually, we had to agree, they were quite good.

The only blight that happened during the opening act was when Gorge the Boozed-up Pony barreled his way to the front and acted like a complete ass.

I do not think he was acting though. Thankfully, he left after falling down once, and climbing up on stage once. When they went off, we all had to step back and to the right to let the band get their stuff off the stage and out the door. Anyway, about 45 minutes later, it was time. The boys took the stage at exactly After the obligatory "From New York City Next came Extra Terrestrial Intelligence.

After a guitar switch, Buck raised the roof with an extended version 6: Every time I see him play this, he has the biggest smirk on his face. From there, we were treated to O. The next song, Flaming Telepaths, was one that I had not been privilege to hear live before. Seeing Eric laugh maniacally towards the end of it with his short hair, dark glasses, goatee, and a "Sick of it All" T-shirt gave me shivers.

The last new song they played was I'd like to See You in Black. Buck's guitar work before the last verse is phenominal; his fingers move up and down the neck of his guitar like a spider. It was a religious experience. Next came In Thee. It was cool to see 3. I always feel a pang of regret when BFU starts because the end is near sniff, sniff. Danny and Bobby were able to cut loose on Godzilla, and like usual, it was awesome, I've never seen sticks move so fast, Bobby!

As for Danny, up till then, he looked like a caged animal because of the lack of room, but with the other boys off to the side, he was able to prowl around with his guitar treating us to some MONSTER bass.

Unfortunately, I was only able to get one autograph Buck's. The boys had to head out to Penn, and the security was not letting anyone in. The body guards were nice enough to take some stuff in to get signed - but that meant Joel stood outside with out his jacket for a good 20 minutes.

All in all, one hell of a night. I noticed Buck and Danny wear earplugs - I assume they all do, though. Buck and Al were wearing the same type of T-shirt, I can't read them. Anyone know what they say or mean? Concert that I've ever seen so far. On March 15th, I heard that B. Well I was so thrilled that they would be performing so I had to get to this concert.

I'm 39 years old now so I was too young to witness the Majesty of B. Most of the concerts I have attended have been in my own state PA. Anyway, back to the show on March 15th at the Staricase Live. The club was a very small venue, a lot smaller than TINKS in Scranton, and I've never been to this club before - I've heard of local bands playing there but not any big time names, so me and a friend of mine went to the show.

What a show - their sound that night was spectacular, and they rocked that small club - their sound was amazing - when they played Don't Fear the Reaper I got goosebumps, that's how great the show was. I've seen them a couple times in my area, but this show was the best out of all hands down - there was no comparison, and I think it had something to do with the acoustics of that small club - like I said, I saw them at TINKS in Scranton a couple of times and twice at the Woodlands in Wilkes-Barre PA.

I'm always on the lookout to see if anyone has a recording of that show, like I said the show was out of this world. Funny story - being a guitarist I'm a big fan of Buck Dharma's guitar work, and he was the reason for learning how to play - before that I just a drummer.

Anyway when Buck's own BD collection cd's came out, he was selling them off his website and I ordered the set. Well, it was taking forever to arrive so I wrote a letter to where I sent the money.

I thought a company was handeling this for him. I go "get out of here", he said "no its really me Shawn I got your letter, about my BD Collection CD's you ordered, I just wanted to tell you that they're on there way, so not to worry". He said that he took it upon himself to do all the packing and shipping and it was too much for him to handle, but that my CDs would be going out. The collection also came with a T-shirt and a Buck Dharma personlized autographed photo of him, so he said what would you like for me to write on your photo, and so we talked on the phone for a little while I told him how much his music and his guitar playing inspired me to play guitar and that he was my favorite guitarist.

Buck is a really nice guy - not many pro musicians will take the time to call one of their fans - he is the best. This was on March 20, There were two shows - My wife and I went to the early show because we had to work the next day and it was a long drive home. The venue is a club where they serve food and drinks. There are tables with eight seats per table.

When we arrived the person who was to seat us was confused because what was written did not match the floor plan. After some discussion, they finally put us at a table right in the center, with no one else there - we had our own V. The show started late because we were "waiting for Buck to get there" - that's what they told us.

But they put on a typically good show. A lot of people were yelling out requests for different songs, until someone said "Just play whatever you want! Nozmo King from New Orleans , played from 9: I love the intimate atmosphere with BOC jamming. This was my first time seeing BOC in 8 years as Eric said, "we don't come down here very often" , but about the 25th time since I've lost count, unfortunately.

I've only seen one show I didn't like around in San Jose, Calif. Buck's vocals were fuzzy early, but it was corrected by the third song thankfully, Harvest Moon came over perfectly.

His guitar work was as good as I remember it, perhaps better is that possible? He is still one fine player. I was impressed by the heavy sound in the new songs first time I'd heard any of the three new ones they played. Buck responded well to the crowd. He and the other members thrived on the diehards' reaction to his playing -- more so than I remember in the past. I must say it was great to see each one of them smile even the new members, but especially Buck, Eric, and Allen.

They seemed to dig deeper because of it. Buck seemed especially sharp on that. His work on the 3 new songs was enthusiastic and crisp work. As I mentioned, a very heavy yet clear sound. As heavy as these new songs sound on CD, they're even better live at least on this night. Based on this, there is no reason BOC should even think about quitting if they are, but I doubt it. Heck, I guess it's 4 with the live version of In Thee. Let's hope BOC gets some airplay, because the tunes are catchy ones -- catchy enough to help the current tour.

Harvest Moon and Live for Me have fantastic work by Buck; good to see he's still strong. Wish there were more days like this. Maybe the Brain Surgeons will venture into south Louisiana one day. My best wishes to BOC, its staff, and fans everywhere. Raymond Boudreau Last night, B. I wish I could say the place was packed, but the crowd was heavy with loyal fans who have been waiting for nine years for the band to return to Louisiana.

Since Baton Rouge doesn't have a new music station anymore, I suppose this was the only choice. We receive a station which plays a mix of classic rock and new rock, WCKW, here, but this station also serves the New Orleans area.

I mention this to point out one what I believe is one of the problems B. Of course the audience was nothing but people who had always liked B. Who else knew about the show than hard core fans and people who like classic rock and really dig The Reaper? One of the nice consequences of this, though, was an enthusiastic and well-informed audience. My friends and I planted ourselves right down in front of Roesser and never moved.

We were pleased and amused to hear people behind us shouting for Lips In the Hills. One girl standing next to me who admitted to my friend that she was 14 when Imaginos came out shouted for Veins. People sang along with Flaming Telepaths. Eric Bloom did not have to coax the audience to respond to Dominance and Submission. The crowd knew the lines as well as he did for songs which may have never been played on the radio anywhere.

To put his in perspective, one has to realize that They simply don't come here anymore. The people in south Louisiana have been keeping the faith for Blue Oyster Cult based on nothing but memories of eighties concerts and the albums. These are not people who have had opportunity after opportunity to see the group perform.

Many have probably only became fans since the , and have never seen them live. And yet, here they were, singing along with the songs they knew so well. It was a great experience.

On to the concert itself. We arrived early and took our place at the front of the line. When the club opened its doors, we were told we could not wait in front of the stage until the show started so we captured some tables, had a few drinks and waited. The Nosmo Kings, a funny cover band out of New Orleans, opened for the group. The Kings have a kind of relaxed short hair nineties look, but play a mix of heavy covers from the the 60s, 70s, 80s and 90s.

The band obviously didn't take themselves too seriously. For example, they announced, "we play all original songs by the original artists.

Of course, the Nosmo Kings come from New Orleans and any time playing before layed back and often very critical N. We could have done a hell of a lot worse. I made a quick trip to empty some of my beer I had been drinking and rejoined by buddies. Can you imagine waiting for nine years then finding you had to go during The Reaper? Fortunately for the sensibilities of my companions this did not happen.

I had the playlist from the newsgroup and so knew what they were going to play, but of course thats not the same as hearing it. The band doesn't fool around between songs. The keep the chatter to a minimum, just play their rock and roll.

And play it well they do. Roesser reminded me of a gymnast performing a complicated routine and performing it well. The man does not put on airs, but plays an outstanding solo or fill then gives a little smile that seems to show an inner satisfaction. I just am still so excited from hearing The Vigil live.

The guitar work from Roesser blew me away. After hearing Flaming Telepaths and The Vigil, one of my friends turned to me and said "I can die now. The band shows a mastery which can only come from years of performing constantly on the road. One of my companions after the show agreed , "I almost didn't want to hear it. This seems to be in keeping with the heavier selection on the playlist and mood of Heaven Forbid. I couldn't help but notice a controversy on the group over the traditional bass and drum solo break during Godzilla.

Personally, I am a bass fanatic and love a good long crashing live drum solo. The break here I noticed was much shorter than the on the tour I remember from nine years ago. I really don't think it came close to dragging the show out. Once again we had the opportunity to be inches from Buck Dharma playing The Reaper. I find it too easy sometimes to lapse into superlatives when talking about this, but, they played a great version.

There is no substitute for being there, even if you have a young security guard in front of you doing a pantomine of being bored. My thought was, "My god man, don't you have one bit of rock and roll in you? How can you just lean back and yawn like that? Being up close has its downside, of course. Concerts are usually mixed to have the sound focused on the middle of the auditorium. Lyrics becomes difficult to make out and the highs tend to become tinny.

To me, though, I can sit back and listen to the intricate nuances of an album all evening every evening. Live shows are to be experienced.

A couple of my friends wore Imaginos T-Shirts which they have lovingly cared for for years. Buck noticed, I think, and very obligingly kept his guitar close to the edge of our section of the stage. After the Dominance and Submission and Red and the Black encore the show ended.

As I said, the show was all too short. I wouldn't have minded amore extended jam on Godzilla or even longer solos, but what I really wanted was more material.

I'm sure everybody says this after a show they enjoy. I know the secret to performing is to always leave the audience wanting more and the band played a very tight set. Yet, I can't shake the feeling that they could have played longer. I miss Astronomy, which they could have done in its Secret Treaties incarnation, if they wanted to keep things in early B.

Damaged would be outstanding live. I noticed when I received the playlist the heavy reliance on songs from the early albums. This was a guitar concert. Allen Lanier played guitar more than he played his keyboard.

I love the early stuff, but I would have liked something from Imaginos or Cultosaurus. This said, I think they chose deliberately. The line up of older songs are the very ones which seem to be in keeping with the style of Heaven Forbid.

As I mentioned, even The Reaper is heavy. Personally, I love it, even given that we missed some things. I love rock and roll and after all the years, Blue Oyster Cult plays it. The only phrase for it, tired as it may be is, "they rocked. I just hope we don't have to wait so long for them to return.

I have some more thoughts, but this is already overlong. I will post more later after the Gulfport or Mandeville concerts. Rhastus Another small club gig. Diverse setlist, but I remember they did the big three. They played about 1 hour 45 minutes and Jason got another record signed by the band.

Had a beer and Hung out with Buck for a little while after the show Raymond Boudreau I would like to thank Bolle, Brian, Briz and Pete for the kind things they said about my ramblings I posted this week on the newsgroup.

I'm a newbie here, having just discovered the group, but I have been so energized by the new album and tour that I felt the need to share my thoughts about this experience.

Since somebody seems to be reading these things, always a reward for any kind of writer, I'll continue. Two good friends and I got off work yesterday and headed off into the darkness for B.

C's show in Gulfport, Mississippi. This was probably foolish on my part at the least because as I am writing this I'm falling asleep in my office, but hey I've had nine years to sleep. We were a little worried about our late start, because Mustang Sally's, the club where they appeared, sold no advance tickets.

We went out on a limb anyway and, armed with a map printed off the computer from Yahoo, drove the miles or so to the show. Gulfport anchors the western half of what used southerners used to call "the redneck riviera.

At one time legalized gambling made the Mississippi Gulfport and rough and tumble spot, a kind of "Las Vegas South," home of the imfamous "Dixie Mafia. An accident of geography makes the nearest swimmable beaches in Gulfshores Alabama. Mississippi has beaches, but they are most appropriate for picnics, fishing off piers, and so forth. This fact prevented the state from becoming a spring break destination like Fort Walton Beach in Florida. Then, in the nineties, the Mississippi legislature legalized gambling on the coast again.

Now gambling boats and dockside gambling have revitalized towns like Gulfport and Biloxi. New clubs and entertainment venues have opened up.

Mustang Sally's is one such club. The bar sits on Beach Drive, right across from the Gulf of Mexico. On a clear night, when the moon hangs just right these beaches remind me of Imaginos. As we walked from my car, a cool gulf breeze hit us. From the outside, this seemed a perfect venue. Inside, the club proved to be small, much smaller than the Texas Club in Baton Rouge. The Texas Club, as the name suggests, normally books country acts.

When they are not hosting live music, they play as strange ecletic mix of dance music and country. It's a big place, and this probably contributed to the sense that the crowd seemed small. Mustang Sally's is a bar. Instead of on a raised stage, the bands play in a kind of pit surrounded by a railing that I assume forms a dance floor at other times. This resulted in it being impossible to see the acts if one is standing any distance from them.

When we arrived we were able to stand one row back. The front had been staked out by a group of diehard fans who remained enthusiastic the entire evening. They had crafted "blue oyster" pendants which they proudly hung around their necks on cords. The place filled up with enthusiastic rock and rollers.

I was encouraged to see younger faces in the audience. I find this encouraging. They need to reach out to new people who come just to see a show and become converted.

Fresh blood and fresh fans mean more B. Otherwise, it will die with us. The opening act were not properly introduced and never told us their name. Once guy in the audience kept shouting, "who are you? This proved fine with me because I don't imagine I will ever need to look for any of the albums.

They proved to be the exact opposite of the Nosmo Kings, except that they were also funny, only in their case unintentionally. The act was a heavy metal trio, whose singer-bassist had obviously been told he looked like Axel Rose of Gun 'n Roses and whose guitarist had long stringy brown hair and did an amazing but obviously unintentional impression of Nigel Tufnel in Spinal Tap.

They seemed to emerge straight from a garage somewhere in the late seventies, playing a simplistic rendition of what the singer, whatever his name is, aptly described as "original shit. He postured, jumped up on the ledge before the railing and gestured to the crowd. They were Bill and Ted meet Beevis and Butthead meet Spinal Tap, all taken deadly seriously like we were there adoring fans come to sing along with their tunes.

They were awful, but at least they kept us in stitches. The best thing I can say of this unknown band, besides the humor, is that they were well rehearsed. These guys spend alot of time in that seventies garage, but their music was simple without much risk. Even the drummer, who was shirtless with long unkempt hair as is traditional, played basic back beats to the "original shit" to which the audience was treated.

The audience cheered and clapped though. The fans were here to have a good time, albeit sometimes too much so as the bouncers often had to move to quell extremely minor disturbances thoughout the show. Note that the show had bouncers, not "security," as it appropriate when watching a bar act.

The bouncers proved excellent, never overreacting and seemed to know a large amount of what was basically a small town crowd. And I never saw one yawn once. After a break, B.

They seemed more relaxed and to enjoy themselves more than at the Baton Rouge show. Buck Dharma jumped around, smiled waved and generally seemed to be having a good time. The group even dressed more relaxed. At the Baton Rouge show, Buck wore a black collarless shirt under a sport coat which he took off later in the show.

Black t-shirts were the order of the day for the rest of the band as well. During Before the Kiss, Buck jumped up on the ledge and played. Unfortunately, this was the last time we were to see this. Our enthusiastic acquaintences tended to reach their hands out through the railing. I don't think Roesser like to risk being touched while playing, so he stayed back away from the edge of the crowd. I believe the band's demeanor may have something to do with the day off they received on Wednesday.

They may also prefer to play smaller clubs. The boys in no way appeared embarrassed by their surroundings, but seemed to feed off the crowd's enthusiasm. Peter Longeway has mentioned that the group seemed out of sync during the first half the Texas Club show.

I noticed that the sound mix seemed to be off and that the band was gesturing alot to people off stage during the early part of that performance. Here, there were no such problems. The band attacked each number with gusto. As I rocked to See You In Black and Harvest Moon, tunes already becoming familiar, I found that their versions were more full of energy than at the last concert.

Occasionally the band made a couple of technical gaffes, more so than at the Baton Rouge show which I believe was tighter musically, but this is Blue Oyster Cult. Miranda treated us to a different and longer bass solo, during Godzilla, something dear to my heart although controversial to some.

I noticed that Roesser climbed the top of the stairs at the DJ booth behind the stage and watched the solo smiling. Then, he came down put on his guitar and waited. When the bassist noticed, he brought the solo to an end.

Buck Dharma is clearly in charge of this band. Eric Bloom mentioned that the band was leaving for their Jackson Mississippi show that evening. Jackson is Mississippi's capital and the largest city in the state located in the north near the Tennessee border. This would make for quite a trip. I think that this is the reason they did not do the Red and the Black. For an encore they simply ripped into a jammin' rendition of Dominance and Submission and bid the audience farewell.

I managed to snag an On Tour Forever t-shirt at the table in the back. They didn't have a merchandise table at the Baton Rouge show for some reason. At twenty dollars, the t-shirt was reasonably priced for a concert shirts. I can not say the same thing for the baseball caps which were also quoted at twenty dollars. We left the show and headed back to Baton Rouge at one in the morning.

Tomorrow we will be there in force in Mandeville. I can only hope that we hear it in Mandeville since they have an open date on Sunday before the Little Rock show. The group played the Heaven Forbid material pretty much the same way as they played the rest of their set, no doubt because they have been playing the songs live for so long as you guessed.

At both shows they mentioned Heaven Forbid each time they played a tune and encouraged the audience to buy it, as it just came out. Interestingly, well maybe not that interestingly, in Baton Rouge they credited the accoustic In Thee to Heaven Forbid by way of Mirrors, while in Gulfport they simply credited it to Mirrors. This album is becoming ingrained like so many other of their releases. I find the tunes coming to my mind unbidden. It started great and is actually getting better with repeat listening.

It has been so long since I could say that about an album. I like every song on the CD. Raymond Boudreau At last I sit down to collect my thoughts and review the Mandeville show, despite the agonized complaints of my brethren overseas.

Since they have announced dates in Europe, I need no longer worry about whatever small bit of guilt I might have had at discussing the show. I find myself exhausted and elated after the last week. The previous week the newsgroup buzzed with talk of the new album and the current tour.

Sunday and Monday the anticipation of what would occur built. Then, Tuesday March 24 arrived. In the morning, a new album purchased. All day the tune hummed through my computer at work. That night, they came. Wednesday, a day off lunch and dinner spent in conversation about the album and concert with friends. At work, Heaven Forbid again. Thursday, three good buddies set off for Gulfport and we were rocked again. Then, on Saturday night, they gave their final show in this area in Mandeville, Louisiana.

Seven of us, appropriately enough, set off to see the concert. Mandeville is a city on the north shore of Lake Ponchartrain. The city has become a suburb of the New Orleans, connected to what the locals call the Crescent City by the Lake Ponchartrain Causeway which spans the lake. The Causeway extends 24 miles across the lake actually an estuary making it the longest bridge in the world, unless some third world muckety-muck hasn't stolen our thunder.

When travelling across the Causeway, both shores disappear in the middle, a strange experience for the uninitiated. The northshore, as we call it even in Baton Rouge to the west, has filled up with upper-middle class people looking to escape the crime andconfusion of big city life in New Orleans. But New Orleanians have a way of bringing their culture with them, and a nightlife has come to Mandeville.

Headliner's, the club where they played Saturday night, forms part of that. Once again, they appeared in a site situated on water. Headliner's sits on Lakeshore drive, directly on the lake. The sky appeared pitch black over the lake on our left as we walked around the corner to the show. One of my friends made another crack about the subhumans emerging during the show as we entered.

We found Headliner's a perfect venue. For the first time, a little poster on a column selling Heaven Forbid greeted us at the door. A very attractive young blonde woman sold the tshirts and hats to our right.

As we arrived early, we got to the show at eight when it the club had it listed as starting at ten, we were able to seize our traditional spot. This time the show took place in a club, which though smaller than many, had clearly been designed for rock concerts.

Bars sat up and to the side. An open lowered area extended back from the stage. The stage itself rose only a foot or so above the floor. A railing, merely chest-high, ran across the front. We would stand right in from of Buck Dharma, as close as someone you talked to in your living room. Unlike the other shows, in smaller metropolitan areas on weeknights, this would be a Saturday night concert in the New Orleans area.

A people began to file in we could see it would be a big crowd. Imaginos tshirts and flat out tshirts appeared. The audience would be a mix of northshore yuppies, biker types on of whom was to "conduct" the show while pressed into my side waving his hands in front of my face, but this is a minor gripe , guitar afficionados young and old , classic rock listeners, and hardcore B.

You know, their fans. This had us excited, but accompanied by a bittersweet feeling as well. The last show of our Blue Oyster Cult odyssey would soon begin. I must admit, though, I didn't feel as sad as I thought I might. I felt kind of relaxed, in the groove. This had become part of my life. I guess in one respect, much as I found it hard to believe this was all happening at the beginning of the week, I didn't really think it was ending at the end of the week. The club soon filled with people and the show started with no bull.

Not that I don't appreciate the Bud girls. I got a blinking light bottle cap from one in Baton Rouge and a Tshirt at Gulfport. Beautiful women in tight fitting minidresses and I just connect, although perhaps not entirely as much as I would want. The opening band, Invisible Cowboy, just came on and introduced themselves, which put them immediately head and shoulders above the unknown band in Gulfport. These people actually had a record! The best of the opening act of the three shows then began to play a hard rocking set.

I find it hard to peg their style. Anyone familiar with Cowboy Mouth or Better Than Ezra might recognize what may be emerging as a south Louisiana rock sound. They were much harder than Ezra, but all three bands play a kind of country influenced rock, absent the twang but with a hard driving beat with a reliance on guitar fills. Yet for all this, this group seemed not as out of place as one might think. What is even weirder, for a group who on the surface would seem to be distant from B.

Behind each verse drifted a nice haunting little guitar fill ala Reaper. The front man introduced one song as being about a fundamentalist preacher kidnapped by aliens. Yeah, Invisible Cowboy knows them. The only thing I think may be holding them back is their lead guitarist. Although the man was quite competent, many places their songs begged for an extended guitar solo. Instead we received a slightly drawn out version of his basic riff. It may be that he simply doesn't have it to give. He was likable, the group was likable, and I think we all liked them.
