We had a lovely time, very peaceful, very warm and cosy; just right for a romantic 28th anniversary getaway! Sue is a fantastic host and the place is beautiful, situated looking out onto a sheep field. It's got everything you need and can access some great walks from just a few minutes down the road. Sue is an amazing host! The Sheperds Hut is a cute little place to stay in, well equipped with all the amenities described and more.

Sue also lend us her bikes and recommended cycling places for us, allowing us to have the beautiful countryside experience. Very great stay overall. I booked this cottage for my friend and her sister for a mid week break.

They had an amazing time there and loved every moment. I was told the cottage was exceptionally clean, in a great location and Sue was very friendly. They couldn't think of a single negative comment. Sue was great at answering questions about the area, and we were able to get in contact with her easily.

The Shepherds hut was delightful. A perfect cosy getaway from the hustle of London. The wood burner churned out lots of heat so were always toasty! The hut is situated close to walks and pubs. We managed to explore the area without a car easily enough, however be aware that that a main road is close so you need your wits about you.

Sue has created a perfect, clean and homely nest for you to escape to. I highly recommend it. The Shepherds Hut is cute and cosy- exactly as pictured. Susan is a great host who made us feel very welcome. She went above and beyond to ensure we had a good stay- she even drove us to the station as we were leaving, which was very much appreciated given the pouring rain! I would recommend this to anyone looking for a romantic hideaway.

Had a lovely long weekend stay in the Shepards hut, very comfortable and well equipped with everything you need including a set of bikes. Sue was a brilliant host with quick replies to any requests we had. Was a lovely autumn retreat here with our dog, shows it's not just for the summer!

If you love the peacefulness of a countryside place to stay this will be a nice visit. Sue was great with communication and our dog Honey loved the private garden to run around in. Just an idyllic location, even better than shown in photos. This is the best rental place for two I've ever come across, and I've seen very many. Everything was done with such care and attention to detail, and it really is a home from home worthy of six stars Thank you Louise and Andrew for a great stay.

Wonderful spot in a truly idyllic setting. Comfortable, stylish and clearly a loved home - the perfect combination for our weekend away. We received a warm welcome even though we arrived late then we were left to our own devices. The sunrise through the trees was stunning, worth an early morning! Simply put, this place is perfect. The photos on the listing make it look magical, and it's even better in person.

Louise and Andrew were lovely hosts, and there was a welcome pack which we pretty much used as a bible for 4 days. We'd love to return again to see it and the area at different times of the year. If you need a getaway in the woods, it has to be here. Clear communication prior to arrival, beautiful location, clean and well thought-out accommodation.

I can assure you that all of the wonderful reviews here are genuine and not overstated. Wonderful, wonderful cottage, location and hosts. Our new favourite place to stay. Only problem will be finding a weekend when it is not booked. Weekend away from London, the most beautiful area, amazing views, quiet woodland - very relaxing!

Will certainly be back in the summer! This the second time I've been here. It's a wonderful place. Louise is a great host; very friendly, helpful and laid back. The flat is beautiful and so is the surrounding area. The annex is perfectly placed in between Midhurst and Petworth and is perfect for exploring the area. Jon and Tanya are perfect hosts and made us feel very welcome. The annex is a quiet and relaxing place, perfect for a weekend away. We will try to go back and highly recommend it: Setting very bucolic English countryside.

Accommodations spot on down to fresh milk in the fridge. Lots of great pubs close by. Wonderful old country towns like Midhurst, Petersfield and Petworth in easy driving distance, as is the cathedral town of Chichester. We had a lovely couple of nights in the annex. Tanya was very welcoming and everything we needed was laid on. We enjoyed exploring the local villages as well as relaxing in the garden.

Tanya and Jon and their two dogs were very friendly. We would recommend this location to anyone looking for a country break. Beautiful location, nice country setting Would be happy to stay again. An all round beautiful stay, hospitality was amazing! The Annex was so cosy with everything you need! Wonderful stay at the annex. Lovely charming room by the creek. Lots of footpaths to explore nearby. Comfortable bed with a functional kitchenette. Jon and family were very welcoming and had great communication before and during our stay.

Couldn't of asked for a better stay. We look forward to a return stay in the future. We had such a wonderful 3 day stay at Our annex. The annex was beautiful and had everything we needed and I was so happy to find a fresh pint of milk in the fridge: Although Jon was away we felt welcomed and we loved meeting the dogs: Jon was also very accommodating in answering several questions I had prior to arrival.

Fantastic value for money. We enjoyed our stay at the cottage. Everything was as described and we had a great hike there, following one of the routes in susans book! Wonderful escape from the city. The room is comfortable, private and tastefully decorated. New bathroom and kitchen, fabulous shower. Plenty of good pubs nearby!

The annex was perfect for our two night stay whilst down for a friends wedding in Bury. The property was really clean and had all of the facilities we could want for a relaxing weekend base. Sue was a great host and came to introduce herself, showing us where the bikes were kept and always happy to help if we needed it. She even very kindly lent us a spare key in the late hours when we left ours at the wedding!

Would definitely recommend this place as a good base for the weekend. Thankfully we had good books and there was a dvd in their small library to help entertain us.

Unfortunately the wifi was only strong enough to get slow access but this could be a blessing in disguise. The bed was comfortable and you will not be want for pillows. Our little dog was thrilled with the quiet and the fabulous country walks Lord's Piece, if I remember right, and Petworth Deer Park not from the door but close by. Even though the Annex is right on the road side, the windows are good and there was little noise as it is also tucked neatly behind a beautiful wood fence and electric gate, very private.

Both are happily dog-friendly. We had little contact with Sue and Tim as we know the area a bit.

Petworth - GU28 Escorts & Massages - Independent & Agency Escorts - Vivastreet (3)

We would love to stay again! Amelia and her family were the most generous, welcoming and great hosts. They went over and above with their hospitality.

Room was great, clean and really lovingly put together. Lovely, well appointed home. In keeping with images and description. Thanks for a lovely stay. The cottage is beautiful and very comfortable. Ali was very kind and checked a couple of times that all was well. The location is completely private and not overlooked in very quiet countryside, yet close to Petworth. One minute from the local pub made it very convenient. We were pretty pleased with this! Also on arrival- it looks like you're driving into a sheep field- that's correct- keep going!

Great place to stay, we were disappointed we couldn't stay longer! Only reason I wouldn't give it 5 stars is unless going outside using door in room you have to go through 1 bedroom to access the other. Ali's cottage is truly idyllic, located a short 20 minute walk across meadows from Petworth, and right next door to a cosy pub. We loved sunbathing in the garden and saying hello to her friendly pet dog! She kindly left us a bottle of wine and fresh flowers on arrival, and even let us check out late since there were no guests arriving that day.

I would definitely visit again for a peaceful break. Excellent cottage hosted by very welcoming and lovely people, would thoroughly recommend, thanks for the butter! The cottage is lovely and suitable for a family with kids. However, it may not be an ideal place to stay if you go with friends who are concerned with privacy because the two bedrooms are interconnected and this means people, who sleep in the master bedroom, will have to walk through the other bedroom in order to access the bathroom for a shower , the kitchen and the living room.

Also, we had a problem using the bathroom on our last day because the toilet didn't flush, the sink and bathtub didn't drain. Every time I tried to flush the toilet, there was some brown-stuff shooting out from the bathtub drainpipe and stuck in it for the whole morning.

So, none of us could take a shower that morning. Due to the toilet problem, we requested for a late check out. Unfortunately, we had to leave on time for the property to be tidy up for the next guests. The Dovecote is a very charming retreat! Inge-Lise has put a lot of love in decorating it and one feels welcomed from the very fist moment. Inge-Lise and Erik are lovely hosts. The house is in a peaceful area and one can enjoy nice walks from the doorstep.

Perfect for a romantic stay or for a peaceful escape! Amongst the tangled fronds of ancient woodland rises Dovecote Lodge, its vaulted prize indicating an unsullied sky and housing a stay of assured comfort, rumtopf and cheer. Inge-Lise and Erik were fantastic hosts, driving us to and from Billingshurst Station at either end of our visit and providing us with a delightful breakfast each morning. They also encouraged us to use their own beautifully-kept garden in the evening, and we did so, finding them to be extremely pleasant company although the show was frequently purloined by dear Bertie Bumblebee, whose peerlessly noble presence added to the sensation, wrought from gazing at the decor, the artworks and the greenery, that our hosts had built a better, more quintessential version of England within England, and then rented out its use at a highly enticing rate.

Aside from the panacea of rolling about the forests en route to the gorgeous St Bartholomew's Church in Egdean via a particularly magical abandoned church in the woods - see if you can find it! Plenty more suggested itself, but with only two days of what we'd determined to be relaxation we didn't come close to exhausting the possibilities afforded us by this oft-unconsidered corner of the South Downs.

It should be mentioned also that on our last evening, through still blue tranquillity a hot-air balloon flew directly over us. It felt as if to put the final adornment on this tastiest of cakes, although tell that to Bertie - he became as animated as he's presumably ever been. What had that spangled orb been? And why did it belch fire? Anyhow, thank you so much for a superb and much-enjoyed visit Website hidden by Airbnb.

The owners are very helpful warm and friendly. Could not do enough to please and tried to make everything perfect for our stay. Bed warm and cosy and the breakfast was delightful. High standard of cleanliness and plenty of tea coffee and biscuits. Charming secluded little dovecote that's perfect for a country stay. The owners are very welcoming and even offered to drive me to pick up my car in the morning.

Ideal location for exploring the Sussex countryside. Erik and Inge-Lise were brilliant hosts! They were welcoming, kind, hospitable and went the extra mile to ensure we had a good stay. A really fantastic weekend at Maggie's Hut. Hosts Shirley and Charles had thought of absolutely everything and made our weekend totally relaxed and cosy. Great location near the local pub, a short drive from Petworth, and loads of great walks on your doorstep.

We'd highly recommend and look forward to returning soon! Despite the rainy weather, it was all fantastic. Cannot recommend this highly enough!

Really beautiful surroundings, lovely comfortable and cosy hut and amazing breakfast. Very knowledgable and welcoming hosts. The outside toilet and shower were super clean, and despite being March, everything was lovely and warm.

Thanks Shirley and Charles! Me and my boyfriend stayed in Maggie's for one night and we are so glad we came here. The hut and the area are amazing! Shirley and Charles were both very welcoming and gave us some good advice about walks in the local area. They also provided us with lovely hot croissants and delicious fresh bread in the morning.

Other than that they left us to it but were available if we had any questions. The hut itself is so charming and done up to a very high standard. We slept really well too as the bed is super comfy!

It actually exceeded our expectations from looking at the pictures. It is in their garden, but well hidden behind bamboo so still felt very private. Initially we were worried that it might be too cold being November but it was so cosy and warm with the log burner.

We even had to open the windows as it was so warm! They are also minutes away from a pub which was a big win for us after a long walk and great if you don't have a car. We got the train to from London to Pulborough and then walked there which was lovely. It's brilliant for a quick and easy escape to the countryside. We wanted a couple of days away to rest and relax some where a little bit different. We got exactly what we wanted.

Everybody including Rita the dog were all friendly and helpful. The whole experience was perfect. My first airbnb booking, booked with about 3 hour's notice so was worried we might be imposing but Shirley seemed genuinely pleased to be able to accommodate us. Charles was so enthusiastic to show us the hut and bothy, and he's done a fabulous job in creating them and the eco-loo! Hut is lovely, cosy, comfy and relaxing, and the breakfast fantastic!

Use of shower in house also most welcome. We were warmly welcomed and look forward to returning some when. We were looking to get away from the city for a quiet weekend, and we got even more than we were hoping for. With just an hours drive out of London, we got to the hut in good time, and had a very warm welcome. If there was anything we needed - it had already been catered for. The log fire in the cabin was such a nice touch too!! It made for a super cosy weekend, not to mention the breakfast hamper too..

Some really great walks in the surrounding areas too! Thank you so much for an unforgettable stay A magical midweek break from it all - Maggie's Hut was the perfect place. A very special South Downs location; a beautiful and secluded garden; an extremely comfortable and well-equipped hut; an excellent breakfast and very welcoming hosts.

This place has so much to recommend it, topped by great little touches and clever attention to detail. Shirley and Charles are superb hosts and made sure our stay was exactly what we'd hoped for. This is an incredible house in some beautiful surroundings. We had a great time staying here and using the pool and garden too. The village is also very well equipped and everything is only a few minutes walk away. It was a shame we had to leave! Craig and Kerry are the perfect hosts.

Kind and always available. Their place is truly spectacular. A wonderful massive house in the center of a lovely town. I invited friends from all over Europe to party with me for my birthday and it was a perfect location. I loved the decoration and the little touches everywhere in the house. We also had 5 small kids that had a great time. I would definitely go back as soon as I can!!! The house and garden are beautiful. We love quirky , boho style so everything was stunning for us! We would love to return.

The house is on a main road but we are Londoners so we didn't register this and in fact for us it was great to be able to pop to the shops and wonderful Indian restaurant opposite! Back in the garden and house , however, you feel like you could be in the south of France! Thank you Craig and Kerry!

There is so much space in the house which was perfect for a family reunion as we could all get some space when we needed too. The kids loved the garden and we all really enjoyed spending time together here mainly in the kitchen! Kerry and Craig were very helpful and responsive hosts, Petworth is a great little town to explore and Petworth Park is fantastic.

We would definitely come back again! Brilliant Character to the house. Lots of space for a big group to stay. Lots of bathrooms, amazing our doors space. We loved the our door seating, we ate all our meals out there. The pool was perfect, really made the cottage get away very special. Kerry was there to great us, and was available via text at any time during our stay, with quick responses. Fabulous Kitchen - things that you may forget like salt, oil or tea are available to use.

Recycling and food bin, which we love. So pleased I picked this place to host my 30th Bday. Very special, did everything we needed. Favourite space, the garden. Thank you Kerry and Craig. We had a great time. The hosts were very helpful and friendly and the house was amazing.

Craig and Kerry were excellent hosts! They thought of absolutely everything from helping us organise activities in the local area, to a chef to come to the house and cook for our group. They were very generous and made us feel totally at home in their amazing property.

We could not believe how stunning it is when we first arrived! Both the house and the town are gorgeous. We loved the fact that the chickens were roaming around and that their cat has two names and only drinks out of a China mug! Craig and Kerry were very helpful and even popped over to fix a small issue we had with one of the many toilets! This is an excellent place to stay and would highly recommend it!

Kerry was amazing, the house was amazing, the gardens were amazing, all simply wonderful. You couldn't wish for a better house and host. Everything you need and we had a wonderful weekend in Petworth. We can't recommend it or Kerry highly enough and are already trying to work out when to come back. It is the most amazing and special place.

Extremely comfortable and couldn't recommend it more highly. We had a great stay in the hut! From mince pies to local maps, there are loads of lovely touches that made it a cosy and comfortable stay. Megan and Neville were lovely and we'd thoroughly recommend the shepherd's hut to anyone who fancies peace and quiet within easy reach of london.

I couldn't recommend this heavenly place more! We stayed for two nights to escape London and it beat all our expectations. The location is truly stunning and sitting by the lake watching the sun go down with a bottle of red was a moment to cherish!

Megan and her husband were perfect hosts and not only gave us a fantastic tour of the grounds and its remarkable unique habitats but also shared a glass of wine or two which led to great a great conversation. Fantastic experience we won't forget! Amazing equipped and furnished Shepherd's Hut in a magical setting. If you're wanting to explore the South Downs this is an amazingly located Hut for walks, seeing lot's of wildlife and fauna and general relaxing.

The host's Megan and Neville are very accommodating and leave lot's of nice goody's upon arrival. Can't recommend highly enough. This shepherd's hut is so well equipped, beautifully finished and in a quiet, secluded location away from everything! We loved staying here. Location was great and the Shepherd's Hut was a lovely place to spend the night. The hosts were also great - Megan gave us some good recommendations for places to eat, and we enjoyed chatting to Nev about the local flora and fauna!

We also enjoyed sitting down on the little pontoon, which the photos don't really do justice. Lucy and Richard have a cool, quiet and luxurious setting which was perfect for a weekend getaway amongst friends. Their communication was excellent all weekend and they couldn't have been more accommodating. Much better value for money than a hotel with the added bonus of being able to work on your own schedule in such a beautiful setting.

This is a stunning little apartment right in the centre of Petworth. Lucy and Richard were perfect hosts, with fantastic communication and even came to meet us at our car. Highly recommend the art collection at nearby Petworth House, and the park which is free to enter the house is national trust and you have to pay, but you can enter the grounds for free via the pedestrian gate.

We loved our stay at Lucy's beautiful penthouse apartment. The penthouse slept 6 adults comfortably, in clean and high quality rooms and two bathrooms. The living space upstairs was spectacular, great for having meals together and space to relax.

We were staying for a wedding and had everything we needed to all get ready the morning of the wedding. Kitchen also very well equipped. Lucy was very helpful with all our requests! We were lucky to be the first guests to stay at Lucy and Richard's Petworth Penthouse! The apartment used to be the photography studio of 19th century photographer Walter Kevis, so the place has some fantastic history to it and we loved the mix of modern fittings combined with some original features.

Despite it's age the place is immaculate, very clean and comfortable. There is a winding passage to get to the front door and then a narrow staircase to get up to the apartment and another again to get to the second floor so be prepared for that if you are less mobile.

The bedrooms are really comfy, we slept 5 people in the four rooms 2 sharing a king The collection of bedrooms and bathrooms were cosy but the top open plan floor is a great, larger space to relax, have dinner, play boardgames etc.

We spent almost as much time in as out: Richard and Lucy were great hosts welcoming us warmly, providing lots of assistance getting into Petworth and the apartment as well as great tips for places to visit nearby. As far as location goes it was ideal as a central point for visiting the Sussex part of the South downs. The penthouse is only a short drive from some great walks and within walking distance of Petworth house and grounds walking amongst the oak trees and deer in the free to enter grounds was a highlight We also did some pottery and glassblowing workshops nearby.

Petworth itself is small enough to easily walk around but packed with restaurants, cafes, conveniences and antique shops! Overall would heartily recommend for a characterful stay and would definitely stay here again. Clean, comfortable, and charming, highly recommended. It's a penthouse, so there are stairs, quite narrow, so that may not suit less mobile guests. I wish I had a penthouse just like this one. Its a hidden gem in the heart of Petworth.

There is so much attention to detail and thought put into making this property cosy and functional. Beds are really comfortable and even though it is located in the town centre, the mornings are really quiet. As for Richard and Lucy, they make the perfect host. This penthouse comes highly recommended!! We loved our stay at the Penthouse. In a perfect location right in the middle of Petworth, the Penthouse has been beautifully restored with great attention to detail and comfort.

Very well equipped with lovely extra touches from fresh flowers in the kitchen to interesting selections of magazines and books in each room, this was the perfect base for a weekend of polo at Cowdray Park 10 minutes' drive away. We had a really wonderful stay at Lucy and Richard's place. What a beautifully appointed space. Lots of great attention to detail and I would not hesitate to book again. Lucy was communicative from start to finish and very helpful with suggestions for local restaurants and things to do.

I would highly recommend! This was a the most perfect country escape right from the word GO! Location great, short walk to the farm shop and the local pub, villages within easy driving distance but you have your own space.

The House is gorgeous! Lovely comfy beds, lazy afternoons by the fire, brunch in the sun outside, fired up the BBQ and beautiful dinners inside. Kitchen well equipped with everything you need. Jessica and Kate were both very helpful and left a great list of things to do and see; the Horse Guards Inn was sensational as were all the local farm shops dotted around. Devastated to return to London after three unforgettable nights! A very special trip that we will never forget!

Can't wait to come back, thank you thank you thank you. We spent a wonderful weekend at the barn, which is gorgeous and well equipped. The large garden was ideal for the children, with great views over the SouthDowns. Jessica and Kate were the most welcoming and helpful hosts and we followed their recommendations of things to do and places to go e.

Petworth House and Garden and where to eat we had a Sunday brunch in the garden of the Horse Guards pub which we will never forget. The food was delicious and the garden a little corner of paradise. We are really thinking of coming back for another weekend. Jessica and Kate were amazing hosts. Jessica was so easy to communicate with and Kate went above and beyond welcoming us to the house and ensuring that the grocery delivery wasn't left out in the sun for too long.

The stay itself was lovely and super relaxing. The house has great facilities and was well placed for a wine in the sun or cup of tea by the fire. The walks in surrounding countryside were amazing.

Thanks for having us for the long weekend! We group of 8 stayed here for two nights in early December and had a fantastic weekend. The barn is a beautiful property - charmingly furnished, with a huge living space - and ideally located for walking in the South Downs. Special thanks to Jessica for prompt and efficient communication and providing unique local coffee for our arrival, in addition to Kate who picked us up from the station and warmly welcomed us to the property.

Would definitely stay here again! If you are looking for peace and quiet, this is your place. Late, the property manager, was absolutely lovely, and recommend this rental to all!!!

Myself and my family thoroughly enjoyed our stay at Jessica's wonderful barn in the South Downs. The location is ideal for countryside walks and picturesque viewpoints. We had a car with us during our stay so were able to drive to nearby towns such as Petworth where they had the BEST farm shop called 'the hungry guest'. Jessica helpfully emailed over recommendations for nearby walking routes, restaurants, pubs and many more hints and tips that we used a lot.

The barn itself is very spacious and has a beautiful fireplace we lit every evening. The only thing we didn't anticipate was the openness of the beautiful grounds the barn is situated on Obviously this is just one minor detail that probably doesn't affect most holidaymakers! Overall a fantastic weekend away and would love to come back! Jessica's barn was exactly as described and more. Such a beautiful setting!

We weren't there for too long but took a nice walk to Tillington definitely visit the Horseguards Inn and Petworth Petworth House is also incredible. Jessica gave us a very useful fact sheet which answered many questions, and Kate, the property manager was a star.

She gave us recommendations about where to go and paths we could take. The only thing we didn't take into account were Sunday trains and organising taxis before we got to Pulborough, so would advise booking ahead.

One of the most stunning interiors I've seen in U. Honestly if what you want is a quiet getaway with someone close and spend a weekend playing board games in the midst of a beautiful fireplace in a large Victorian space, this is the place for you. Can't recommend it highly enough, I'll be back soon! Thank you for being understanding about our change of date. Your apartment was so comfortable, spacious and convenient. I would definitely stay here again. Laurence's home was perfect. Spacious, lovely and well outfitted.

Instructions for everything were provided and check-in was well organized and convenient. Laurence's listing is a beautiful modern house just as described on the webpage.

We were a little late for our check in but he greeted us with a warm welcome, showed us around the house and made us feel at ease. As we had rented the entire house we did not see Laurence after this, but if you want the comfort and convenience of a modern home while enjoying the beautiful countryside of South Downs during the day, this place is for you.

My husband and I have just returned from a 3-night stay at the Coach House and we can only echo all the "positives" from other guests. It is comfortable, clean, spacious and equipped with every facility you could possibly need for a short or longer stay.

The high ceilings and dormer windows meant we stayed cool even in very hot weather and even the road noise from the A29 outside wasn't a problem. Parking and access couldn't be simpler and Sainsbury's supermarket including cash machine is right opposite. The photos don't do the apartment justice; it is even nicer in reality. As regular visitors to the area we hope to return soon. Communication from Laurence was excellent throughout and we would unreservedly recommend the Coach House to other travellers.

Love staying here, clean, well located and peaceful. Look forward to coming back. Laurence's apartment was lovely.

We didn't want to leave. Laurence waited for us to arrive even though we were late due to traffic and was very helpful. Great location with Arundel castle just up the road! Lovely stylish pace with all the amenities provided to a high standard. The location is ideal for cycling as you can explore narrow local lanes and have a good chance of encountering the wildlife and taking in the rural charm of the villages and farms that you miss by car.

The local village shop is particularly well stocked and also serves tea and coffee with a couple of tables outside to sit which is particularly well come when cycling or walking. Jans place was just perfect.

The woodwork details on the building was beautiful - her husband I believe is a master craftsman. I highly recommend staying here. Jan's place is a true treasure in more ways than we can say.

The location is gorgeous - beautiful walking trails through woods and fields literally outside the front door and also up to the South Downs Byway. A delightful combination of lovely English countryside and wilderness, with warm and welcoming local country pubs and a remarkably well stocked convenience store all close by.

The apartment is simple, clean, private and unpretentious and yet provides everything we could want or need. Jan herself is a perfect host in every way -- completely helpful, responsive and kind - actually way beyond the call of duty - while at the same time fully respecting her guests' privacy.

We were looking forward to this little 3-day holiday but never expected it to be as good as it was. My only hesitation in giving this the very best possible review is that I don't want Jan's place to get so popular and booked out that we can't easily return!!

Our stay at Jan's place was great. Jan was very responsive and even figured out where we could charge our electric car. Great location for break - fantastic cycling round quiet lanes, as well as the South Downs Way, beautiful village, great pubs.

A convenient clean and comfortable room, and Jan kindly came to pick us up from the pub when it got dark! This is a great totally secluded spot for camping. We didn't see one person when we were at the site. Wild camping at its best! Next to a disused railway that allows for lovely walks or cycle rides through beautiful countryside.

Great location for exploring West Sussex. Good place for kids to explore and climb trees. And thanks to our host for the milk from the farm. Weather was gorgeous when we were there, so a good first time visit. Another fantastic camping trip to Hurlands Farm. Charlie was, as ever, a great host, directing people up to the campsite and bringing extra wood and water as was needed for such a gloriously hot weekend! The children and adults loved playing in the river which was much needed as it was so hot.

The peace of the spot makes for an ideal get away, already planning next year's trip! The meadow is lovely, right in the middle of nature! We had such a great time! But the river is shallow incase you plan on using the rope swing! Another great experience staying in the meadow. The stars were spectacular and love the river to swim in handy as no shower. The meadow is about 10 mins drive down a farm track so expect your car to get a little muddy!

This place is so peaceful and feels very remote. You'll get a friendly welcome from Charlie and then be left alone to enjoy your surroundings. Charlie was very helpful, especially when we realised we forgot our air bed pump he came to our rescue!

We had a magical time camping here. We stayed by the river and couldn't have asked for more. We will definitely be returning! This was a mini holiday with my teenager The place is comfy, spacious and well kitted out including some Easter Eggs! The views are amazing and there are lots of nearby places to suit all interests.

Claire and Phil were lovely hosts. Claire's place is seriously lovely. Exactly as described and as per photos it's modern and super clean, and claire sorted us with a lovely continental breakfast including Buck's Fizz! So sad to leave and want to return in summer!! Claire's place was absolutely beautiful. It has a wonderful view over the downs and was immaculately clean. Claire can tell you about all the walks and pubs to visit in the area and has maps and guides in the room to take out and about when you go.

Really lovely place, can't fault it! Such an exceptional airbnb the location is fabulous and Claire and Phil were so welcoming. The place had everything we could ask forand more. We will be returning in the future thank you so much.

We enjoyed a lovely experience over Christmas at the South Downs, we could not have asked for better hosts; Claire and Phil were an absolute treasure. Cottage was very cozy, clean, well equipped and comfortable, it has all you need to spend few days away. On arrival we enjoyed a pleasant surprise of a well stocked fridge, very handy for everyday breakfast, Claire had a nice gesture of leaving a cold prosecco for a toast on Christmas eve.

All advise we received was spot on for exploring the areas and towns nearby, as well as the places to eat. Views are stunning specially at sunrise and sunset, and you can't wait to lay on the couch at night and look up through the glass windows to the bright stars.

Highly recommend this cottage for a great country get away. If you are looking for somewhere to stay in the South Downs look no further The View is absolutely perfect.

Everything you need for your stay is provided from the well stocked fridge and fresh fruit to the maps and guide books, DVDs, novels and magazines to the soft fluffy white dressing gowns. Last but not least the views, they are stunning. The view is beautiful and the place itself is even prettier than the pictures show.

We purposely chose a place more remote to enjoy some peace and quiet and we did not mind traveling to point of interests such as Brightons undercliff walk, Devils dyke or west wittering beach during the day as the drive itself isn't that long and can be quite beautiful. Claire prepared the place for us so that we felt welcomed from the first moment we stepped in. It was very clean, the fridge was filled with fresh food and the decor of the place made it feel like home.

We would definitely recommend this place to anyone who is looking to spend some quiet days at a beautiful place with a stunning view. Personally I believe it is perfect for a romantic get away but I can see a small family going there to spend some good quality family time together too. Thank you Claire for allowing us to spend sone days at "The View".

We hope to visit again some day. Claire's place was a truly wonderful escape for the weekend. Perfectly designed, with fabulous views to wake up to. Claire was kind enough to pick us up from the train station - which was a great help, without a car. This shepherds hut is stunning! Everything about it is perfect, from the beautiful decor to the little extra details and great hosts.

We couldn't have asked for a better weekend. This place is amazing. Super charming, super relaxing. A perfect bolt hole from london.

The lovely hosts have created a luxurious, back to basics space in their beautiful grounds. Brilliant stay, such fantastic recommendations for pubs, hikes etc. Absolutely beautiful slice of nature in the idyllic surrounds of the Shepherd's hut. Gorgeous walks on your doorstep, comfortable bed and great finishing touches like fresh bread, milk and cereal. Couldn't have been better! Waking up to bird song and the sound of field crickets, the occasional woodpecker and ducks on the lake, whilst being tucked away in amongst the trees.

The perfect way to recharge and appreciate the small things. Want to get away from it all A beautiful secret hideaway. We where attending Goodwood festival of speed, this place was 20 minutes from it. It was lovely to come back to after all the noise of cars!!! The hut is beautiful , we felt so relaxed.

Megan and Neville greeted us, booked us in for a meal at the local pub and even drove us there! Milk and bread left for our breakfast was a really nice touch. If you are into walking there are numerous trails here. We went to Petworth what a beautiful old worldly town. Had great Cream tea here. If you want to get away from everything we highly recommend this place. Loved our stay in the woods, beautiful spot and Charlie was very communicative and helpful.

He even drove us up in the night when we first arrived! The surrounding areas are also stunning for exploring and getting away from the city! Charlie was a great host and made us feel very welcome. The area was even bugger and better than we could have hoped! The forest is amazing, bluebells were out and it was totally magical. We luckily hit a heatwave which meant we were able to head down to the river 15 min walk and have a swim in the afternoon followed by napping in the hammocks we had brought.

Charlie was a superb host, always around and helpful. Could not recommend more! Had a fantastic weekend celebrating my birthday with friends. Charlie was very helpful and his campsites are amazing. Total nature experience with no one around and located in beautiful countryside. Don't forget to ask for fresh milk in the morning.

Will definitely go again. Secluded and the forest is beautiful. Charlie was very warming and made sure we settled in well. It was a great camping experience. This is a terrific secluded wood to camp in. The location is perfect with some good walks and pubs near by, even a river to swim in. The woods themselves are very spacious for loads of tents spaced apart.

Couldn't have asked for a better host, so helpful! We had the most amazing time in this location! Thanks for hosting 15 of us on a very wet weekend and making sure we had everything we needed. We received a friendly welcome to the farm and because we arrived in the dark, we had extra help lighting our fire whilst we pitched our tents. The fresh milk was divine and we were happy to wake up to a fresh bottle waiting for us.

We really enjoyed our stay with Hema, the Cabin surpassed our expectations. Nice touches throughout in a well thought out space. We loved our stay and would recommend to anyone who wants a quiet stay in the countryside. The local area is just purely beautiful and just a lovely part of the country. The Cabin is a fantastic place to stay. The double bed is comfy, the surroundings are beautiful and the local pub was perfect.

Very clean and quiet. Great walks with the dogs and very stylish comfortable accomodation. Hosts were very helpful. The accommodation was sparkling clean and very comfortable. A very quiet and peaceful location. I expected a very good room, and was pleasantly surprised to find, frankly, excellent! Comfy bed, great duvet, large and beautifully appointed bathroom. Rapid hot water to large separate shower. Fresh milk in fridge for breakfast, quality crockery.

And by the way, the room is really spacious and relaxing. We had a lovely stay here. Easy to find, nice and private location. It was full of lots of little touches that we hadn't expected, which really added to our stay. Big clean beautifully decorated confortable room with ensuite bathroom with so many nice touches.

We enjoyed our breakfast with the Easter cross buns too. Thanks Charlotte for your local tips and a great stay. Would like to give more than five stars! It was peaceful, immaculate and comfortable, with so many surprising little touches, like breakfast items including a little fridge with fresh milk and juice.

We wish we had stayed longer and will certainly stay again! The room was very clean and spacious, the breakfast was lovely, and the beds were very comfortable.

We loved our stay and we will definitely go back if we decide to visit the area again. Charlottes 'barn annexe' is a wonderful and beautiful place to stay in the countryside if you are looking for peace and quiet.

Its very easy to find and has everything you need for a nice stay. The bed was comfy, lots of space to spread out and a huge bath to relax in. Charlotte left me a great spread for breakfast and even hand delivered me some fresh bread which was super lovely of her. I will definitely be staying again and I would highly recommend a stay here.

We feel so lucky to have found this little piece of paradise and to be allowed to share it. Our hosts were wonderful and couldn't do enough to make us feel welcome in their beautiful home, with the ducks, chickens and dogs! We can't wait to find an excuse to stay here again. Thank you so much!

We stayed with Mary and Martin for a relaxing weekend out of London, and couldn't have wished for anything better. We were given a warm welcome on arrival from the family and the dogs and a tour of the Hayloft as well as the rest of the farm. The Hayloft itself is absolutely lovely with everything you'd want for a short stay, and with Mary just a few seconds away for anything you need.

And then there's breakfast, which is a very nice continental breakfast with bread, cereals, cheese, meat, fruit and yoghurt, but with the amazing addition of fresh hen and duck eggs which were probably the nicest eggs I've ever eaten. Will definitely be coming back!! The chalet is lovely, super clean and quiet. I will recommend this place to anyone that looking for a charming weekend in the country side. If we could give 6 stars, we would!! The loft is a slice of tranquility with so many home touches.

The loft comes complete with fluffy bathrobes, toiletries and a full breakfast. We will be recommending it to all our friends and plan on returning soon!! Mary and her husband went way beyond what I'd come to expect from an Airbnb experience. We'd cycled from London and she gave my girlfriend some Radox to have a bath with when we arrived. Wonderful people, fantastic location. This place couldn't be better. They have done such a great job and should feel really proud of it all.

This was our second time staying at the Hayloft with Mary, and I'm sure we'll be back again soon. Lovely secluded setting including places to relax around the garden, great accommodation, excellent breakfast and a perfect host.

Couldn't recommend highly enough. A perfect get away from city life. Surrounded by miles of fields, wildlife, country pubs. The breakfast provided is fit for a king we struggled to eat it all The Loft is warm, cosy and has a fantastic bath and comfy bed! We could not fault this place and will be back in the near future!

We left with a dozen eggs laid by her chickens the day before. We stayed for 2 nights which was perfect for a long weekend away! Charlie was a dude, the campsite location is great. Terrific views, will certainly visit again I am sure. Charlie's camp sites are dotted around his huge cattle farm in a tiny village in West Sussex - about as far from the madness of city life as you can get!

I've stayed there on a couple of occasions, have always been greeted at the gate by Charlie and left to enjoy the country life. There are probably about six different camping areas on the farm, but you are never bothered by other groups. Each camp 'site' has its own private toilet, Charlie supplies the drinking water when needed and there are showers in the milking shed that visitors can use. There is a pub - The Three Moles - about m along the road which is child and dog friendly, the food is adequate!

Wellies are a 'must' - especially after a downpour - as it is a working cattle farm and the main track from the fields to the main gate where the animals are lead for milking gets 'interesting'. We stayed in one of his woodland sites - there are two - where we had ample space for our four tents, cars and gear - and probably could have accommodated more easily. I have also stayed in his bigger woodland site where we had about 25 of us in 7 tents.

Other camping areas are alongside the river that runs through the farm - and there is even a 'beach' area where you can take a swim in the river when the weather permits! We went on a leisurely 5 mile circular walk starting and ending at the campsite - Hidden by Airbnb walks in Selham - around the West Sussex countryside, taking in two pubs, woodlands, open common land, a Polo field and farms.

And on Sunday morning took our bikes to Petworth House for a cycle over the National Trust owned estate - before heading back to city life again! Overall a great weekend - highly recommended. Charlie is a great host and the trip is well worth the effort! This is a magical place and Charlie is a friendly host who responds quickly to ant requests. Would highly recommend for anyone wanting to get away from the stresses of modern life by camping in the wild. Had a great time camping with my 2 sons, we stayed in the woods campsite.

Charlie is such a brilliant host, we'll definitely come back and stay here again. Our stay at Charlie's farm was exactly the camping trip I've wanted for years! A lovely secluded spot in a gorgeous area for a big group of us to get together a sit round a campfire. Charlie was really helpful and carried some of our luggage up to the site as we came by public transport. I couldn't recommend this place more! Stayed in the woods at Hurlands Farm with my eight year old son. Very friendly and helpful people run the site.

The site is what it says it is: For example, take a washing up bowl if you stay for more than one night. The woods are excellent, plenty of fallen wood to forage for cooking or warmth. Lots of opportunity for bushcraft if you like that. Fi and Rich are great hosts and so kind. It was very clean and well kept and we appreciated the tea, coffee and biscuits!

Lovely host, clean and trendy annex, large garden for children to play in, close to some great places to visit - including a farm with large indoor soft play area for children. The Annexe was perfect - it had absolutely everything one could ask for - we thoroughly enjoyed our stay. It was very comfortable and cosy and lovely to come back to after our days out exploring the glorious South Downs.

Fi was a great host who made us feel very welcome and was extremely helpful with local knowledge. Everything was perfect, lovely annex, everything was there what we needed, Fi is a lovely person also her two little boys! The annex is very clean! Thank you for all, Fi: We had a great stay at Fi's place. The annexe was extremely clean and spacious and we couldn't have asked for anything better! Our stay with Amanda was just what we wanted and we thoroughly recommend her as airbnb hostess.

Good size room for the 2 single beds pushed together, and a nice little cubby hole for our dog cage. Clean and comfortable, and location good base for exploring West Sussex.

Very good selection of fruit, cereals and croissant for breakfast at a time of our choosing. Will definitely like to stay with Amanda again on our next visit to that area. We stayed here as attending a wedding nearby at Bignor Park. We were very well looked after, great breakfast and relaxing house, rooms and garden. Would happily stay here again.
